Chronicals of Riddick - Ultimate Review

Action scenes were ok, but Riddick slashing through people got old. The teacup thing was the best part of the movie.

Girl was hot, too bad she died. She was in Angel too btw, sorta a super hero thing.

The directors cut message at the start of the film was awesome too. The guy was all serious when talking about it. Like the movie was awesome or something.

I will say Vin plays a good anti hero, but I wanna know how he went from not giving a shit to giving a shit so fast. Pitch Black events mattered to him, but really?

Then the whole promised one shit was rushed and made no sense. What was more terrifying is the idea that they are doing this cause they plan another movie.

C-.

Thanks for the teacup, but never again!

Well we can always hope the next movie explains what happened at the end of this one, because it really made no sense. Not that much of the movie did anyway...

And I agree, the teacup was pretty cool. I found the movie otherwise very hard to sit through, compounded by the time of night I watched it.

The sequel to the movie needs to be made into a game first and foremost. Because there is no way they'll stay true to the source material in the PC'fied country these days.

I liked it. Riddick is a great character, even if the story faltered at times. Big points for set design too.

This movie got a bad rap.

I met one of the guys who worked on set design through a friend (it was shot in Vancouver), and saw some really cool samples of the foam/plastic guns they give the actors to use when they're doing scenes where they fall down on top of one of the guns (whether it be in the holster or lying on the ground). Looked very authentic.

Great action flick. Went in not sure what to expect and came out pleasantly surprised. I'll grab whatever ultimate edition DVD they decide to release down the line. It was better than Pitch Black, that's for sure.

I tried "been a long time since I smelled beautiful" on my wife, and I got:

"been a long time since YOU smelled a diaper" in return.

:(

There's an unrated/extreme edition out now that puts back in scenes... I picked it up when it came out but I haven't watched it yet....

Good fun movie. Tons of action, some exotic set design and Tooms was hilarious.

It's biggest problem is being a sequel to Pitch Black - the universe (which in the first one is an Alienesque realistic future world) just seems too far removed from the first movie. Big problem was setting the first chunk of the film on New Mecca - should have had the Necromonger's attacking a very Earth like colony with NY style skyscrapers and stuff - to help blend the universe of the first movie with the more exotic fantasy one of the second.

My thoughts exactly I liked both movies and would love to see a sequel. But there was a huge jump from a realistic near-future to a fantastic far-off future. They even showed the NY city being destroyed in the beginning. Would have been alot cooler to actually see the carnage.

I dug it too, enjoyed the second viewing on dvd more actually. I mainly just hated the horrible villian lady ugh
