Why not? Although the music isn't really up close and personal there, that's one of my favorite venues, and a true perk of living in this teeming megalopolis.

Plus, Buffalo Daughter. :D

It's mostly about convincing my wife to go.

Does anyone actually enjoy listening to Birthday Cake? I can understand people having different tastes...but this...unless you think it's so bad it's good, I can't understand.

Gotta be one of the worst songs I have ever heard.

Birthday Cake was that weird ass song that grows on you as you play the game. next thing you know, you're singing along. never heard any of their other songs though

You just suck tbh.

Really excited to (potentially) see them live. I don't care if they release new material, I just want to see them live once in my life. Stereotype A was god awful (a handful of good moments), but Viva! La Woman has and always will be one of my absolute favorite albums.

More Smokey & Miho plz.

Good to hear even though I didnt really care for them after the additional members joinef. Are they all back? Yoko Ono better stay the hell away lol.

Got my tix this morning. Thanks for the heads up with the password, OP!

I'm more excited for Buffalo Daughter than Cibo Matto but really looking forward to both. I've only heard a little bit of Yellow Magic Orchestra and it didn't immediately grab me, but I'm curious to hear more.

And I love the video for Sugar Water (no, I've never seen "Buffy" either):

Awesome, love this band.

I've read academic work about them in one of my Asian-American Studies classes.
Don't suppose you happen to recall what academic work that was, do you? My curiosity is piqued.

There's kind of three Cibo Matto albums if you want to count Butter 08, which is essentially the same line up and fits pretty well stylistically between Viva and Stereotype.

I won't get my hopes up about a new album (it'd probably be far removed from the original Cibo Matto vibe by this point anyway), but it's cool that they're doing some shows for now.

I used to love that record. I was pretty hardcore about the Blues Explosion back in the day. Blue Train was my favorite Cibo Matto track.

you kinda have to play JSRF to like it. at least that's how I got into it

Hah, my copy of Viva La Woman just arrived in the mail today.

I'm not crazy about the band, but they're definitely good enough to warrant owning a CD or whatever.

They're making a new album, hotel valentine. They've played a few live songs on the last tour when I saw them.

Huge news, best news. This is important. Someone do something important.

I did not understand a since word being sung in that new teaser. Typical Cibo Matto.

Also Sugar Water and King of Silence are easily their best songs.

Disagree. I never played JSRF and I love that song.

The song that made me have to check out Cibo Matto was "Know Your Chicken". I bought Viva La Woman, and have been hooked ever since! I have to say I like Stereo Type A a little better between their two main albums.

I can't wait to hear their new stuff! Cibo Matto's back, jack!

Just from hearing Birthday Cake, these two have the most unworthy singing voices to ever hit a microphone.

Yet the song is catchy. I hate it because it sounds like children screaming with radio static.
