Circana: In the US, PS5 accounted for 47% of total Black Friday week hardware unit sales, Switch 2 for 24%, and NEX Playground for 14%

<200k and they want to launch another console in 2 years time?

i think the catastrophic numbers, and the fact that these idiots were designing a high-end pc-box in this economic climate, will put that DOA "experiment" in jeopardy now,
wont be surprised if early next year we hear that its shelved, just like their handheld

Was very surprised the see great deals on the console especially with the PS5. Game stop was taking in ps5 digital for $300 so I took mine in and traded for the pro for $350 and I'm pretty happy about it. The extra TB is a godsend and console getting more expensive so I know the adoption rate for ps6 will be even longer next gen

Now we know why Nintendo panic dropped that surprise Cyber Monday sale, not looking good for the over priced under powered turd slab. Few month old sequel to the highest selling console of all time should be unquestionably mopping the floor with everybody on its first black friday, they fucked something up catastrophically to be outsold 2:1 by a 6 year old machine.
PS4 had its peak year on the Switch launch year, I've read the same comments back then.

The established console with a big library and heavy discounts will obviously sell more than the new console with a limited library.

Considering Sony dropped the price of the PS5 significantly during BF, I'm not surprised. Switch 2 $50 price drop was not in stores and only for Best Buy and Walmart. What is NEX Playground?

So are you guys conceding that Welfare's numbers are credible after all? Or is he only credible when his numbers are negative for Xbox? :pie_thinking:

If someone who's biased towards Xbox reports bad Xbox news then it really must be bad.

Pointless debating with you, whatever evidence is given you always manage to twist and contort it to suit your delusions.

Yes, why wouldn't they be? Who was expecting Xbox to sell big numbers during Black Friday?
You really thought they were going to be that down? I thought they would do a little better than that. I'm not sure how they recover as far as consoles are concerned. Even if is due to supply constraints, the market seems to have quickly forgotten about them.

Yes. Look at the current prices. People are just pearl clutching because it's Xbox.

Maybe, I think it would be the same if it was PlayStation or Switch in the same position. Since we know MS controls the price, do you think they have given up on this generation and willing to sacrifice it? How do you think that will impact their next console launch? It will be even more expensive based on rumors. I hope they can deliver. If not, they are setup very well for third-party/services.

From the information I gathered, nex is using a built-in camera to track motion and natural body movements, just use your body to play. Play naturally just by moving your body.
What's relevant about Nex and why it works when Kinect didn't is that Nex is using AI inference to properly see what the human is doing

People who think AI is a fraud and a pyramid scheme have no idea how AI is changing the world around them every day TBH, the current gold rush is pretty bubbly but the real world applications of AI are right in front of everyone and they can choose to see it if they want to

Uh?

MS is literally building factories to make millions of consoles a month ahead of GTAVI

Everything is and will be fine
4.8 million units of something per year...

"Fushan aims to scale up to 4.8 million additional Xbox gaming devices as part of the permit, which likely includes Xbox Series X|S consoles, official Xbox controllers, accessories like the official Xbox headset, and possibly even Xbox Cloud Gaming server tech

The PS5 consoles saw a decrease of $100 but the price is higher than Black Friday 2024 by $25.

Switch 2 MKW bundle has a $50 off for the last week at Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart and Target that started on Cyber Monday.

NEX Playground is the third force in the US atm.

They've definitely given up on this generation. They won't subsidise hardware anymore but they are in a bit of a bind because they need some kind of console presence for Game Pass imo. I'm not sure about next gen. It looks like the devices will be powerful but as you wrote, probably very expensive.

Who the hell knows with that guy? This is the same guy who gets triggered if someone disagrees with him on numbers, even if that someone is a known insider.

How's that titan level investigation from Jez Corden going, by the way?

I'm haven't heard anything but the disinformation campaign did seem to come to an abrupt halt.

They're going to have to make do with their existing install base more or less.

All that remains to be seen is whether they regroup for another go next gen, or if this thrashing is bad enough to force them out of console manufacturing entirely.

If they opt to try again next gen, they have to pursue a strong exclusive strategy and they have to have that ready to roll at or near launch. Literally no point releasing another console if they can't manage that or if they intend to continue their current approach.
