I wonder why TC didn't include the Astro Bot part when both the original post and the ERA thread did.
Edit: Mods now included it before anyone replies.

I'm glad for the devs but I also don't think it sold that many static copies.

However, to be fair to my Xbot bros, I believe they did already reup for a sequel, so it is not 100% impossible this sold slightly better than we anticipated.

Did anything else release that week that would have had a chance of being above it?

Weird
This is what I'm saying. I also don't remember Matt ever saying anything about weekly sales of titles, maybe I'm wrong,
but that's usually a UK and JP thing.

If he doesn't usually do it, then why is he doing this?

At whose request?
He did it before regarding Astro Bot, I wouldn't really think bad of Mat here.

Ok thanks. I just don't remember him ever doing this before.

Oh it's like that then is it?

"I don't usually do this" - said the woman on a one night stand.

You are her 100th one night stand in 12 months

Weird

It's super weird that he post about only one game (a game that he said he loves to death) for it's first week numbers. He never does this for any other game.

Then and even now.......the data doesn't tell us much. Why not at least give us the game's "monthly" ranking so far......instead of a "weekly ranking"?

Hey ps fans!! Can we stop seeing a conspiracy everywhere, let's not act like some Xbox fans over here who don't need to be named.

Anyways, great job by Indy and it's good to see astrobot climbing the ranks which is excellent ( especially since Astrobot is my personal goty).

I feel that Bethesda will suprise people going forward and might end up being Xbox's best purchase. The talent is there, it's just that they have made some weird decisions the last few years.

I think most are trying to understand why he releases weekly totals for one game at random. It doesn't tell us anything. The same goes for when he did it for Astrobot in September.

That will be just two weeks instead of one, at that point you may as well just wait for the December NPD results (which I don't think will be that positive for the game, anyway).

Hence my point. What's the point of posting about 1 week sales, without the context of the other 9 games that week? At least Famitsu gives out weekly numbers for the top 30 games. Just doing it for one game means nothing. There's no context.

I get that but I was aiming more at GHG, who is usually a pretty good poster( rational, gives facts and logic, doesn't fanboy) and some others who did cast doubt as to why this particular title was chosen. Personally I believe, just like the case with astrobot, Mat saw Chris dingz's popularity with his weekly uk chart posts and thought of doing something similar. Posting about popular titles and especially ones whose performance gamers are looking forward to, does drive engagement and interest in his data.
Mat acting like if he doesn't know what he is doing 🤣🤣 A guy that born in this forum.

True but at the same time people do have a habit of ignoring words, meaning and context when they are on social media.

He just wants to, I think you're reading too much over a single post on BlueSky.

I'm not reading too much into it. I personally think he did it because he loves the game and is using this as good marketing for a game he likes. I support that. I just wish he did it more for games he doesn't play personally. I'm always pro-"more data".

Agree. I thought I wouldn't like it because it's first person but I'm really enjoying it. FPS games give me motion sickness so I usually avoid all first person games. It's been pretty engrossing.

Still don't care for the combat, but the stealth was better than I expected and the tombs, puzzles were pretty cool. That makes sense though as this is Indiana Jones and not Robocop.

Indiana Jones is a legit great game. It has a few issues, but Troy killed it and they a fantastic job capturing the feeling of the original trilogy.

More players than Astrobot already, impressive.

This is dollars, not players, and just for a single week, not over all. Astro Bot reached number 2 in sales in its launch week as well. No way to really compare the two directly at this point.
