Why is Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is not even in the conversation for Game of the year?

The game didn't come out in time to make the nominations of 2024 (which was kind of a weak-ish year tbh), and it has 0 chance of making it to this year's awards given how stacked 2025 has been.

When people will stop caring about fake awards giving by the acces media...

Give it to indiana jones.. give it to concord..

It dosent matter people.. cmon.. it hasn't for a looonnng time

I haven't played all the GOTY nominees, but the ones I have played I liked more than Indy. Probably would go the same way for the ones I haven't played yet.

The game has been nominated at the more relevant awards ceremony, Joystick's Ultimate Game of the Year 2025. Nobody gives a fuck about the Geoff "Cuck and no Fuck" Keighley advertising awards.

MS should just stop releasing first/2nd party games in December. Or anything after November 15th.

All major third party publishers should do the same.

Because there are like 6 or more better games that are GOTY contenders and it depends taste, for me Dying Light:The Beast is a more fun Game than Indiana Jones or other GOTY contenders like Silksong.

It's late release date didn't do it any favors for starters. The biggest issue is a pretty good game releasing in a year of reeeeally good games this voting cycle that's going to leave out a lot of deserving games. Hell, the games that don't even get noms would make a fairly decent GOTY year list themselves.

Because it's not a really good game? I was on sick leave for two weeks, and that was pretty much the only game I played during that time, and even so, I didn't finish it.

Great movie and graphics. Mediocre gameplay imo.
I was mainlining it just so I didn't have to do more combat than necessary to finish the story.

Because it isnt THAT good?
Listen- Indiana Jones is a top 2 IP for me. Literally love and cherish the series, i been to Venice to take pics where Indy was- like that much of a fan.

The game looks and hold a great Indy feel. Its quality presenation. The gameplay? feels disconnected- just wasnt amazing. It was fun- GOTY though? no. The Vatican and Egypt were top notch in terms of feel.

I am talking strictly The Game Awards which ends eligibility period in November, it is actually frustrating to think Indiana Jones is not even in the conversation for a nomination, same thing happened with Smash Bros and it will also happen to Metroid Prime 4, it will be interesting to see what Geoff will do about GTA 6 next year though if it meets its current launch date it will probably not be eligible for next year and he either going to extend the period or what? Skip it and put against Intergalactic in 2027?
I don't think it's quite good enough to be honest, IMO Arc Raiders is the best game this year but that was too late to be considered I imagine?
