I wish I had never seen this game. I am already slammed back to hell with single player stuff I have to beat. I am hopelessly addicted to Unreal Tournament pre-alpha, DOTA 2 still dominates my mind and I just got into the Heroes of the Storm beta. Now this. I spent over 100 hours in Simcity 2013 so imagine what the hell I am going to do in this shit. I wish I was a robot.

OK cars leaning round corners is awesome, and a hearse just pulled up at a building and dudes wheeled a fucking coffin out to it. This game can't be real.

Can there be traffic accidents in this game? Would be cool to see an accident screw up traffic and test your alternate routes.

I would really like to try this, but these games tend to be somewhat challenging performance wise (and not always using the HW efficiently). Will there be a demo?

Many of the early streamers didn't quite understand how things can slowly spiral out of control in terms of sewage/water pollution, inadequete health care coverage, overloaded crematoriums/cemeteries, and poor traffic management. That gif was from one of those streams I believe as someone was desperately trying to find short term solutions. Plopping down a bunch of crematoriums and cemeteries wasn't the answer, lol.

I think it was something like:

* He didn't notice the sewage output was near one of his water intakes.
* People were slowly getting sick due to polluted water source.
* Because of poor road layout he had, it was difficult for people to get to healthcare facilities
* People ended up dying, causing the hearses to go out into the traffic-filled streets to try and pick them up.
* The hearses couldn't pick up the dead fast enough, allowing disease to spread faster starting a feedback loop of more buildings filling up with sick and dead people, overloading the cemetery/crematorium capacities
* People got fed up with that and started leaving the city in droves
* Streamer finally notices huge population drop and tries to fix things in any way he can think of, lol

I bought it just a few hours ago. Now getting a few other friends to get it. Watching the stream now and loving what I see. Finally a proper city planner.

I guess roundabouts are pretty common in Finland, home of Colossal Order? Not surprised they feature so prominently here.

I do hope they tweak the traffic patterns so the cars more consistently use more lanes. Might make the reliance on roundabouts less of an issue.

they already did that with a patch,just most streamers didn't start a new city which is why their pollution is still purple and not gray

It would be neat if they can get it so that cims can take alternative routes if they spot a traffic jam and can see an alternative isn't as full (i.e. I see a backup here on the freeway, let me take an earlier/later exit if I can still get to my destination from there). Of course, if you have a poor layout that could mean you end up with traffic jams all over the place instead, lol.

Wouldn't that require them to recalculate their route mid-transit? Having them make more than one pathfinding calculation per trip might be pretty CPU intensive.

Whats the size of the download? I preordered it through GMG, waiting on key. I have the day off tomorrow and I want to be able to get into the game as soon as possible.

I think traffic lights would be more of an attractive option if you had some % chance that a driver doesn't follow the rules of the road. As is, unless there's a risk of a collision, traffic lights don't make any sense.

Sounds like the traffic AI needs work. Don't want to be locked into building a certain way, I hate that. Think I'll wait for a couple patches first.

Probably. But it would be neat as a high-end option/mod. For those of us with 4 or more cores and/or hyperthreading support, let us try to stress things. ;)
