Pff, I don't know what anyone means by S1 quality and tone.

S3 is the best season. And they all pretty much have the same tone (except for maybe the first couple episodes of S2).

I only took it to mean that this season premiere could have been a pilot for a new show. I mean, the premise feels like it could be. Jason Street set the tone for season 1, I mean, even at the end in S3 Tyra still show how much what happened in the pilot affected everyone. When he isn't here anymore it's bound to be pretty fresh in everyway.

My bet is on Landry turning into a douchebag. Never Saracen <3.

Actually, maybe Riggins is a douchebag now too.
Doubtful, from what i'm reading of the second comment.
Going place a another bet on JD. Seems like perfectly natural progression, with the shit he was going through in the third season.
I would cry if landry turned into a asshole.:(

Never heard of this show before, but does Explosions in the Sky do the music for it as well? They're my favorite band in existence and I love the movie soundtrack.
Yeah, there half the reason i started watching the show in the first place.:lol that said, i think the DVD releases cut out most of the EITS music.:(

Edit: Aha, you edited!
Uh...no I didn't! :lol

Don't get me wrong, I love season 3. It's just the idea of season four sharing strong similarities to season one is awesome.

MEGATONZ!!!!!!!!!!!

OK, so I've already posted about the Oct. 28 return of "Friday Night Lights" to DirecTV, but those were just arty trailers. Now, we've got our actual first look at the new season! First up is an uber-bored Riggins (well, he is in class), which seems to imply his time at college will be short lived.

Oh, in related Riggins news, a little birdy said I better "get ready to press the pause button at about the 28-minute mark (excluding commercials)" during the season premiere. Something tells me Timmy's gonna be nakey!

Elsewhere in Dillion Julie and Matt are still going strong despite what Zach Gilford told PopWrap back in August. And the couple that keeps on keepin' on, Eric and Tami Taylor, will never waiver in their devotion to one another, but perhaps to their town.

Does Eric look better in East Dillon red then he did in Panther blue?

DAAAAAAMMMMMMNNNNNNNNNNN.

Edit: I also wanna throw in DATASS.

Edit2: PANTHER BLUE!

Seriously, how fucking sexy is Julie looking O_o?

And how weird does Coach look in those colors? It probably made him sick when he put in on :lol .

Coach Taylor's a straight-up Blood now.

Easily one of my most favourite scenes from last season. That and when Julie tells Matt to shut up while they're having dinner at the Taylor's - the expression on Eric's face was priceless.

I just realized, if they're at a new school, does that mean they won't be chanting "clear eyes, full hearts, can't lose" anymore?

Anyone have a feeling that they are basically starting over to try to re-market the show? It receives such good reviews and not many watch it. My wife has caught me watching but said she doesnt want to watch all the seasons to catch up. I think a lot of people are like that. This would be a good jumping on point to get a mainstream audience. It basically being a whole new show could possibly mean another 4-5 years if they work it right.

There's only two years left, that's for certain. They've planned it out that way.
