Is that Mick Foley beside him?
I mean, Brock only beat Punk with interference and Brock had him out weighed by at least 60 pounds. Punk has a real shot, friends. To the best of my records, he's only been knocked out once and has never tapped out. He's tuff enuff. Most of his losses come from bullshit ref decisions. Mazzagatti levels of horse shit. He also defeated the best pure striker the sport has ever known inside of a cage, so this isn't new territory for him, friends.
I expect Punk to enter the P4P rankings by his 3rd fight.
Remember White said UFC would overtake boxing and compete with WWE
They should just put him on a season of the ultimate fighter with a bunch of other noobs.
You can't be a can yet until you've fought! Now most likely CM Punk will be a can, but I'll wait and see!The twist is that CM Punk is a can.
You're furthering my point. People are criticizing how he's going to start out fighting cans. That's exactly the competition he should start out fighting.Guys on UFC PPVs aren't noobs. Even if they're 0-0 in the UFC, they've got MMA backgrounds and have fought professionally in other outfits. Punk is a total noob, not ever fought anyone. You put him in with a 24 yo kid who's been training MMA for ten years and who's fought in Europe and Japan, how is it gonna go?
Wrestling gifs are the funniest out of context thing there is.

I get you're point but doesn't mean Brock by default was guaranteed to me of a success than someone who doesn't have those credentials.
Naoya Ogawa was a world champion in Judo and Olympic Silver medallist but never really has success in MMA.
Satoshi Ishii again an Olympic Champion in Judo but struggled wit MMA.
Don't forget the claim of being bigger than soccer.
That is embarrassing.
Lol. "I'm going to jump head first into the UFC because I'm really passionate and this is something I've always wanted to do. But if I can't train in my apartment I'm probably just going to wing it."
Isn't a Chicago deep dish the lynchpin of MMA nutrition?
No. But Punk eats a lot of deep dish pizza and that's why he isn't willing to travel to do any training.
What's your beef with Punk, stro?
What's your beef with Punk, stro?
That's not a very nice thing to say!I have no beef with him. 'Cuz he ate it all.
Over exposure
Lack of ability to create enough draws for the amount of shows they now run
Dana is a cunt
That's not a very nice thing to say!
Now this I can agree with.HE'S FAT
Also added too many rules, sucks compared to what Pride MMA fighters could do. Makes most fights a bore to watch because of how rule stricted they in the UFC.

It's developing into a bit of an odd situation, in that UFC will want to book him to win but they can't have someone just take a complete dive for a professional wrestler. He has to meet them half way, but any form of real MMA preparation could lead to him quitting before he steps into the octagon. He's not a once-in-a-lifetime athlete like Brock, he's a 36 year old stuntman who broke boards instead of playing tee-ball. To be truly prepared he's going to go beyond the threshold of taking a bad bump from Ryback. He's going to have to get roughed up, and if he's not willing to take it there he may very well embarrass himself.
What I mean is that normally a person going into the UFC will fight someone else who has a pretty poor record, or limited experience in the UFC. But those people will still be experienced fighters having fought in Europe or Japan. To get an opponent for Punk, they'll need to hose down a hobo.
Normally, a guy like punk, with no MMA background would never get a shot in the UFC. And a PPV? They're not gonna put a Seth Petruzelli caliber fighter in with Punk.
After hearing him talk on Art of Wrestling about what really bothers him, losing in UFC will make him want to kill himself. People are ruthless and know how to get at him.

No doubt. Now non wrestling fans are going to be making fun of his body and how he doesn't deserve anything he's getting. The stuff that bothered him most in wrestling (not getting the respect he felt he deserved, having to put over part time guys) are going to be amplified in UFC because he ABSOLUTELY doesn't deserve anything in UFC, especially not a PPV fight that is going to bump someone who deserves a PPV pay day. He's going to get no respect AND he's a real life version of the part timer guy getting special treatment. And get the shit kicked out of him.
I don't understand. He spent a lot of time saying how he wasn't getting the treatment he deserved. Do you disagree he deserved better? Why do you think he will assume he deserves more now in the UFC, despite him stating over and over again that he's currently nothing in this sport? If you've listened to anything he's had to say it's very clear how he sees himself in this, and expecting special treatment because of a deluded sense of entitlement just isn't there. The exact opposite in fact.
They don't need a hobo, they just need a 0-0, 1-0, or 0-1 fighter just like it would be in any other promotion that handles new professional fighters. It's certainly not normal for the UFC to have this kind of competition, but as the last few years' undercards have shown, this sort of fight really isn't as far out of the norm as it used to be.
I think he got more than he deserved in WWE. Just the idea that he has zero fighting experience, or even legitimate athletic history, yet is getting a multi-fight deal on PPV with the largest MMA company in the world at the expense of people who have been fighting and training for years and he's totally cool with that leads me to believe he thinks he deserves it.
So I know absolutely nothing about MMA/UFC, but am thoroughly excited to see what/how Punk does.
Stupid question time: Does UFC have their fighters do promos similar to those inside WWE? If so, are they all in a press-conference-type setting, in the ring, backstage?
Realistically speaking, CM Punk is going to get destroyed unless they book him a really, really terrible opponent. He hasn't competed in any sport before, but he's practised BJJ with top guys for a while, at least.
If he ends up training with guys that are offering to help him like Daniel Cormier at AKA or Robbie Lawler or ATT, who knows. He could become a decent fighter.
So you listened to that podcast and think he was treated too well? That's bizarre, frankly.
I don't think anyone, himself included, would deny being given the chance to do this is an incredibly privledge. He "earned" it by being well known. Nothing he's said has suggested he feels like he deserves respect from people who have been doing this. Did you see his reaction to fighters even saying hi to him? I get the feeling you haven't listened to or watched any of this.

No. I think he got more than he deserved from a business stand point. He was lucky to get what he got considering his personality and lack of athleticism and average body. He made a ton of money and was made a focal point of the biggest company in the world of the profession of his choosing. I can't speak to the medical stuff. I can speak to the fact that he got a lot more opportunities than most people in the past 15 years did and doesn't seem to appreciate it because he didn't get MORE.
His complaints boil down to "X got to do that. Why didn't I get to do that?" and "X got paid that much. Why didn't I get paid that much?". He comes off as an egomaniac trying to work all of his fans into believing he's just a dude struggling against the system just like everyone else. But he isn't. He's a miserable cunt who is jealous of everyone around him. This ego issue is already showing up with his MMA career before it even starts with him already saying he isn't going to be traveling for training camp.
