Turns out he saves the childish shit for the beginning of the show, sure, but his interviews are first class and many, many people have come to realize this guy is a real gentleman to all the celebs he brings on and he ends up winning so many people over because they have this cartoon version of Howard Stern in their head before they meet. He would literally give the best interview of Hillary this side of maybe Marc Maron because we would get things out of her that most interviews wouldn't.

We have very different standards for our shock jocks, rappers, comedians, athletes, and reality TV stars than we do for people running the most powerful country in the world. The idea that people are surprised at this (including Trump) makes me want to bang my head against the wall.

I think I misread the conversation between Trump and Stern, so I'd prefer to retract my commentary... Which was Stern calling her a "piece of ass" and Trump saying "ok," which I view more of an ultra-popular shock jock getting to say that in his eyes vs an ordinary person, while Trump was promoting her modeling career.

The trouble with Stern is he sucks up to A list celebs whilst attacking and taking the piss out of everyone else he has on his show. He used to get mentally disabled people on his show just to take the piss out of them. He would get pornstars on and absolutely destroy them. Celebs that are not quite as famous as other celebs he has on were bullied.

I can't speak for his show over the past 10ish years, but he is an awful person for all the stuff he has done in the past. He was still doing it well into the 2000s. He built his career off of being a nasty piece of shit and will never be viewed as a gentlemen by anyone other than complete and utter fools.

It's not even the last ten years, his show was never like that. But it's the perception you could get if the old E! Show and news coverage are all you know of it. I don't think that he's afraid of Trump or his listeners. He does lean conservative on some issues and very liberal on others. He called for carpet bombing the mideast in the past, but also supports choice and the LGBTY community. I wouldn't just shove him into the left or right column.
