I know this is NeoGAF, I love it here. I'm wondering if anyone has a good suggestion (other than the impossible "LET EVERYONE IN!!!"), because I want this done right. Not that I have any control over what its done, but if someone has a fantastic idea I do happen to be about 20 seconds away from fourzerotwo's office.

Someone mentioned earlier of lotteries happening in hour increments.. that sounded like a spiffy idea that could let the registration/lottery be open for the next 24 hours as well as give people a chance to still play tonight. I like the idea.. but the servers will probably still get pounded... obviously.
 
i thought it was said that registered members of charlieoscardelta would be getting a token? or did i read that wrong?

We will be taking care of the guys who've spent the last 6 months on the site, reading all of our updates, participating in our forums, and staying home all day today refreshing the site to get a token.

The tokens only work for what gamertag they set it to last I checked. And we dont deserve anything more than people on cod.com

Nah, you guys are doing it right. The people that are pouring over the info at charlieoscardelta.com deserve preferential treatment. As you've stated, not everyone can get in, and you've set it up as a reward to the people that have been fanatically supporting your efforts all along. They're probably likely to be better participants and provide better feedback.

Correct me if I am wrong.

1. Everyone gets the beta.
2. Server only holds 12 or 24 players at a time.
3. You are linked by your GamerTag(Un4rmedBl4ckM4n)token please:D so 1 - 3 rounds and you are kicked for a time period.
4. If server is full you are in a holding pattern. Person kicked = you connect.

You could have a preview day for the beta. Say you guys do that this Thursday. The beta appears on the Marketplace and is only valid for that day. This way everyone gets a taste but isn't necessarily in the beta.

Or you could make it viral and send out 5 (or more) keys to everyone who is currently the beta. Allowing them to send out keys.

*If an idea of mine is used I demand a free copy of COD4 or a pic of someone from IW making a sandwich.

I actually think this is a pretty good idea.

only not 5. How about 1.

everyone gets to send out one token to one of their friends. that would be sweet as hell.

Well you guys should spread the Beta signups over two different sites. One signup page at IW.com and the other at Charlieoscardelta.


Right now this isn't going to work. You guys saying it's a random lottery is not going to stop 100,000 people from trying to sign on to COD.com as soon as the first post hits that says the site is online.


At least this way you guys can spread the bandwith hit between two websites.

This is a good idea for another reason, it will curb the amount of people who could ruin the experience for the majority, as I'm guessing people don't have those kind of gamers on their friends lists.

The cap level hasnt been raised,games are working fine.

Not sure why some people are having problems getting in.
