CoD: Black Ops 3's campaign doesn't allow you to change race

This is it, as both of them are based in appearance on their voice actors. Don't think this is an intentional omission, as really this is meant to tweak a general appearance, rather than actually creating your own character.

What really stuck out to me though, was the lack of any racial differences in the multiplayer specialists, though it does have a pretty healthy mix of male and female, but only one Asian character. That seems more odd, although I guess technically one might be Hispanic as well? (The guy with Rejack and the HIVE launcher).
One of the starting specialists is black...

Yep, you're absolutely right. The guy with the arc gun and the glitch ability (sorry don't recall any names). Completely forgot, most likely because I have an unlocked him yet.

Edited my last post accordingly.

Actually, if you read the Specialist bio's, it tells you what they are.

Outrider (bow chick) is Brazilian,

Nomad name is tavo Rojas, not sure what kind of surname that is, certainly doesn't sound white.

Firecracker is from Prague.

Nomad, black guy called prophet did they just lift these specialist names straight from Crysis. Next you'll be telling me there's a specialist called psycho

I am almost done playing through the campaign and my first pick was female because I wanted to see how it would effect my perception and gameplay. And it definitely feels different playing as the female character. But it got me to think what it would be like to play as an Asian protagonist rather than as a white person (since I am Asian). I would love to see more choices in the future in CoD. I can't wait to try the multiplayer and create an Asian character.

It seems really weird to offer character customizations of a specific character who just happens to be white. It's like, what's the point? If the developers have a vision of how this character should look, why give any choice at all instead of just determining it yourself and just giving players a couple token accessories like sunglasses or a beanie?

I'm not saying this makes them racist, but it seems like they should have known that offering differing skin tones without different races would feel raw for non-white people.

I could see a point if one said that changing no features except skin color in order to include a black protagonist would be patronizing, but I really think the smart thing to do would have been just to remove skin/hair color customizations and just keep haircut and accessory modification in.

Bro, Japanese character creators are really bad at making black characters.

Japan's population is usually really stereotypical about black people.

What's not to get?????

That's institutionally racist, not understandable.

Do you guys have any examples of these Japanese character creators that are bad at doing dark skin tones? Recent examples that come to mind are Dragon's Dogma, Bloodborne and MGS5 and all three of them have much better black character options than say Mass Effect.
