Code Violet, a "spiritual successor to Dino Crisis," won’t have a PC version to avoid nude mods

Hahaha. That's gotta be the dumbest excuse I've ever heard. The amount of rule 34 nudes of this chick just skyrocketed.

You put a light on this poor voice actress and now she's gonna get spammed with nudes. What utter dumbasses

Regardless of the factuality of this, this attachment to one's creation is not healthy. You make your product, you release it, but once it's out in the open, it belongs to the rest of the world.

Sure, you make your royalties, but your world and characters now exist outside your head. People will draw the characters and make fan-fiction of them, and if successful enough, other people will work on adaptations and maybe new chapters. Is a nude mod much worse than actual porn based on it? Cause that happens and you can't stop it lol
Exactly. This is the argument for every piece of art.

Humans are degenerates. These devs are really underestimating how much people like to troll

This looks interesting. I might give it a try but I need to see gameplay at first. I hope Capcom makes a new Dino Crisis.

Edit: Oh its only for PS5. I hope they port it to Xbox.

I can sort of see the "concern" because models in modern games got incredible life-like, but this move (if it's the actual reason, which I'm willing to bet it's not) will not hinder the nude fan art / pictures, videos and maybe cloned or exported 3d models if anyone would want to work on such a thing.

And with that tweet they diss the modding community, which is known for far more inspired, useful and quality of life mods than the "nude" ones, and limit themselves to just one console market. Which I guess may be their original plan (and deal?) anyway, but that makes the tweet even dumber then.

I guess many wouldn't have heard this game until this tweet -- I certainly hadn't -- but they gained no points with me, and I'll make sure to avoid them when they eventually shit out something to the PC market to avoid bankruptcy.

I mean, you'd better deliver some serious smokeshow before assuming anyone wants to see your characters naked

Also if you say your reason for not delivering multiplatform releases is gooner ick then I think it says more about you than any prospective buyers nutting over their keyboards

+Dino Crisis vibe

Don't even see it myself. There's a dinosaur in it, I guess.

Ah, the Quantum Error devs. Didn't they talk a lot of mess or highly about their game and it was in an awful state? I can't remember what it was, I just remember there being some kind of drama and the devs weren't helping the situation.

This sounds about right and is absolutely absurd.

Homie, some of the biggest and best IPs have this issue, and they don't worry about it unless it would become some huge error. Come on now, lmao.

What a weird reason not to release it on a platform that might well have given you the majority of your sales.

Just do what other corporations do and release a statement telling people NOT to mod their female characters out of respect, even though they know fine well that people will anyway.

Fine lol, not the 1st game that didn't have a PC version in the last forever, and if they don't support modding i wouldn't want to support that decision and play the game anyway, it had better be a good game now to sell to a limited customer base or is it just another subscription level one.

Just as we seemed to be turning the corner on the woke war Capcom goes and chose violence of another nature.

Cant wait until the next state of play.

Maybe that is something the real actors who they scanned worried about.
Never heard about actors being worried about the games where they participated being on pc because of modders. But it might be.

It sounds more like trying to gain some free publicity. Their statement not wanting to even risk modders sexualizing the character is pretty woke, but then their protagonist is feminine, and there is an scene in the trailer where her ass is in the middle of the shot, and that´s not woke at all. So yeah, I think they are just trying to make some noise. And it´s working.

This is the most stupid excuse ever.
Even if not through mods on PC, nothing will stop people from making nude fan art and such, even more so with AI these days. What are they going to do about that?
At this point just make your character a cube, without any shape or animation, problem solved.

Can we get nudepic of your cube plz ?

Not much else to a Dino Crisis vibe then guns, dinosaurs and a research facility gone wrong.

I think the game is trying to put Alien, Jurassic Park, Resident Evil into a blender except the machine jammed and just sent everything everywhere.

They would get better traction if they showed gameplay and just said it's a PS5 exclusive full stop.

Theres a word used in the North of England for people like these, it starts with Spa- and ends in -ckas.

That trailer looked like big huge ass, ironically.
