I have some video files on my computer that when viewed in anything in Windows (even Windows Explorer), causes the program to crash. The files aren't corrupted - they play OK in Linux and play OK on other people's machines in Windows.

I've got DivX installed, pretty sure I have Xvid installed too. I download some US TV and I never seem to have any problems. Any ideas or suggestions?

And I've just solved it - installed the FFDshow alpha. If only I'd waited 10 seconds more!

This thread can now be used for the posting of hilarious animated gifs, or as people see fit.
