People are just so used to putting sexist and racist together as if they fit together like Switch Joycons. It is a lazy way of thinking that people have.
It's the go to response. They know there's no actual defense of specific terrible things that are said, so they then try to pretend that the left is intolerant for not tolerating sexism.

The PS4 Pro thing is just really indicative of the problem a lot of people have with him. When he's called out on stuff he's obviously wrong about, he doesn't admit he's wrong then move on. He digs his heels in and disengages from any meaningful debate whilst playing the victim. I just think that if he'd handled situations like that a bit more intelligently we wouldn't be where we are now.

Also, you can say you aren't racist or sexist all you want, but when you actively support political groups that lobby against the rights of women and minorities, that makes you a racist and a sexist.
Also, Colin says he is pro-gay marriage, but didn't he once say something to the effect of "If people believe in the sanctity of marriage being only between a man in a woman, I think calling that homophobic is a bit extreme."

I mean there are those people, but obviously most of the fans of Kinda Funny either like Colin or are used to him, or else the fanbase wouldn't have grown or would be perpetually shrinking.
Plus if you go to most KF videos without Colin the top comments tend to revolve around wishing he were on that piece of content.

This. Just look at the KF subreddit and the KF forums, where most of the KF fans are, and the fact of the matter is that Colin was the reason that they watched KF content.

I realised I could listen to podcasts while commuting to relax a bit. It helped, things got better and I've been pretty attached ever since. I know I sound really stupid, but the news hurts a bit.
That said, best of luck to him!

May disagree with many of his political views, but I love Colin, and wish him nothing but the best in the future (and I'll be sure to follow his journey). I have always appreciated his refreshing take on the gaming industry and his knowledge of politics, history, etc.
He's just one of those people who can talk about absolutely anything and make it interesting (Conversation with Colin was a perfect example).

Remember around the election, when racial minorities were fucking terrified by what a Trump presidency would mean for them? Whether it be them being deported, validation of racist rhetoric, etc?
And the most sympathetic thing Colin could say was "Omg people the sun is still rising tomorrow. Chill out." As if the fucking rotational axis of the planet is the bar for which people need to judge their day-to-day situation.
He might not be an overt racist (a notion I am increasingly less convinced of considering his recent follows on twitter) but he sure as fuck doesn't care about the concerns of minorities.
