In fact I've heard him (Pete Carroll) repeatedly talk about how much the Rose Bowl means to him, how quickly he dismisses any BCS talk, while steering the conversation back to the Rose Bowl and what it means for USC to play in the granddaddy of them all.

"I have faith that you will extend Big Choke Pete's losing streak in Tha' RB Coach Carr. I'm just wondering who the game breaker for the Wolverines is going to be on the field."
"You'll see, Karakand. You'll see. I don't want to spoil the surprise."

The BCS sucks asshole and should be destroyed, along with those who actually think its a good idea

BCS is the biggest running joke in sports

Hey man, I don't wish harm on you for being an iconoclast.

Don't hate the playa, hate the game.

:lol Bowls for life baby

Easy for you to say, because you are a fan of a BCS conference team and probably don't play for them

Me, I am going to play for a non-BCS team, and the way teams like ours get treated by the elitist, greedy NCAA commissioners is a joke

We should just disband from D1 and join the real NCAA football division, 1-AA. They at least do it right and aren't driven by greed and money like the fake NCAA football divsion 1-A.

Wow, BCS conference elitists are terrible. Is there a worse breed?

There is football played outside of the BCS conferences you know.

TCU and Boise State could easily kick 90% minimum of the BCS teams asses anyway.

Well you tell TCU they don't need the 750k payout from their bowl this year and when they celebrate for winning the game I hope to tell them to go to hell.

Edit: and to think I went to Liberty Bowl and cheered for TCU once or twice

Oh you are just jealous cause you go to one of those small unimportant schools

I bet Tennessee wouldn't have the balls to schedule TCU. Oklahoma did, at home, and look where that got them. Texas Tech tried to get out of their game this year with us, but they couldn't, and we beat them. We have Texas next year, I am sure they really don't want to play us.

Oh yeah:

Tennessee 31, Air Force 30 - Air Force misses 2 pt. try and loses
TCU 38, Air Force 14, TCU up 38-0 early in 3rd quarter before pulling the starters and playing the seniors for senior day, Air Force gets 2 late meaningless TDs

TCU would be a BCS school if they hadn't been part of the parade of NCAA violations the Southwest Athletic Conference was destroyed by.

Another flaw of the current Bowl system, shit 6-6 teams like Minnesota(3-5 conference record) and Iowa(2-6 confernce record) get to go to bowls, and better bowls than more deserving teams at that.

They weren't part of the violations, that was SMU, Texas, A&M, and Arkansas.

yup, Texas Longhorns ;)

but only slightly
i kid

anyhow, lighten up man, no need to make it personal. and the sooner [pun, doh] you realize life isn't always fair the better [i mean no offense]. but even in playoffs, all kinds of unfair shit happens all the time, and the best team doesn't always win. c'est la vie, mon ami.

and again, i love the bowls b'c of the importance they place on every game, the whole season. when we go to dallas to play the hornettes earlier in the year, i know that our whole season is literally on the line. there's just nothing like that in all of sports. i don't want to lose that magic. to me, that's college football.

:lol If by balls you mean pay them a shitton of money to play us, which is how it works. I am pretty sure we would. But I am glad we don't cause we have OU, Cal, and UCLA instead and Karakand, Cyan, and shpankey are much nicer than you

Don't blame your shitty conference officials on the Bowl game selection process. The MAC has had one of it's worst years in a long time and are still sending 4 teams to bowl games.

Does TCU really have a football team, or is your avatar a photoshop?

HAHAHA! Oh MAN it kinda sucks that Michigan didn't get in but at least we kept those poor, hobo-looking mid-major teams out of our precious BCS BOWLS! Except that stupid Boise State team, but at least we made them wait 8 years before they could compete with us. Haha, losers.

SUCK IT DOWN THREEBALL! How's that Poinsetta Bowl look? Maybe on the way back you guys can stop by the ROSE BOWL and see where REAL football teams play :lol

Oklahoma paid us 750k I believe last year to come to Norman and we beat them.

Anyway, I know TCU is a better team than Tennessee. The Air Force scores and record shows it.

Have fun in the Outback Bowl against almighty Penn State, another meaningless bowl in this flawed system. If anything, the Outback Bowl is pitting 2 underachieving mediocre teams against eachother.

at least they can watch real athletes and not people who couldn't succeed in high school trying to find second life at a mid major with football pads. Seriously, I watched SoMiss vs Houston and I thought I was watching blind kids with downs syndrome fighting.

The only programs that weren't put on probation by the NCAA in the 80s were Arkansas, Baylor, and Rice.

What team are you a fan of? You know that we have won 4 straight against the Big 12, and probably have a better team than most BCS schools anyway. There is a reason teams are so afraid to play us. Why do you think Texas A&M never returns scheduling phone calls? Or just about every BCS team that is decent? Texas after 13 years finally agrees to play us, at home.

I am glad you know that, because that is clearly how things always work out. I mean seriously. You probably don't even know what happened in that game. But I am sure you guys would kill Cal and Georgia

That is just going too far. Not only have we beaten 4 straight Big 12 teams, but our recruiting gets better and better with each of those wins. We have gotten some stellar recruiting classes the past few seasons, and picked up a few State Top 100 recruits. Something that never would have happened as soon as 3 years ago. Those State Top 100 recruits go to a Big 12 or SEC school 99% of the time.

And I guess LaDanian Tomlinson is a failed high school football player trying to find 2nd life after high school.

Michigan. How's those Horned Wankers look against the mighty mighty Maize and Blue, huh?

I'm not even gonna watch the TCU game. if I wanted to watch overhyped, overrated texas high school football I'd go rent Friday Night Lights.

TCU lost to Utah who got beat by UCLA who got beat by Cal who got killed by us so I really like your logic.

We would kill your unimportant division 1-A and a half team any day of the week,

09/03 at Baylor W 17-7 - A road win against an improving Big 12 school, who played Texas close and beat Oklahoma State/Kansas State/Kansas, and Texas A&M only beat them by 10 as well
09/09 UC Davis W 46-13
09/16 #24 Texas Tech W 12-3 - Should have beat Texas, beat Texas A&M
09/28 BYU L 31-17 - Top 25 team, our QB played injured that game
10/05 at Utah L 20-7 - Playing at Utah isn't easy
10/21 at Army W 31-17 - Almost beat A&M, this game was 31-0 at half
10/28 Wyoming W 26-3 - They suck
11/04 at UNLV W 25-10 - They suck too
11/11 at New Mexico W 27-21 - They suck
11/18 SDSU W 52-0 - They suck
11/25 at Colo St W 45-14 - They suck
12/02 Air Force W 38-14 - 3 yards away from beating allmighty Tennessee

lol

The said could be same about Air Force, but did it happen?

Dude Rivals has your recruiting class as like 71 right now behind powerhouses Vandy, Kentucky, and Duke

We were about to go up by 21 but threw an interception, when the defense went in our great Defensive coordinator thought the 2nd team should be in with a few exceptions the next play our best defensive player (who was one of the ones in) tore a muscle in his arm and we had to shuffle some people around they scored got an onside kick and on the next play we had our best cornerback tackle a guy and not get up (he has lost control of his right arm) after that the team wasn't in it at all. I am not making excuses but it was clear after injuries the team wasn't thinking about the game

threeball, everyone is goading you with these posts (e.g. myke is a MAC fan). Sit back, relax and troll back, preferably with something funny. That's what college football is all about.

Meier said:
I thought we had a chance to beat UCLA until the other night.. now I'm not so sure. :lol

That's right! We're undefeated in our "new season" (Karl Dorrell's term, not mine).

dude, why are you riding Air Force's coattails, threeball? Don't those soldiers do enough for you everytime they die in a war while you're at college? Do you really have to use them for your outlandish football arguments too? Just let 'em be.

Not cool, man. Not cool. I mean, that's cool that you disagree, but I don't see why you have to use our soldiers to your own ends.

Ehh, what does it matter, none of you played D-1 football, I am going to, so its all good.

Have fun watching from the stands. In fact, I'll be at the sideline next year in Austin when we play Texas, and if we give them a good game, win or lose, I'll bump this thread and refer to those thinking that we can't play real football.

Ask power house programs like Oklahoma if we can play real football, and good BCS programs like Texas Tech. Or just the Big 12 in general how we have made a mockery of them over the past 2 seasons.

where is this perfect, idealized world you live in threeball? i want to live in this fantasy land of puppies, rainbows and unicorns. everything in life is not always perfectly fair.

oh, and BYU and Utah whooped your ass this year? just be quiet dude.

i give you props for beating us at home last year. that was a great game. that goaline fumble killed us. so close! :) ironically, you really weakened our whole team b/c at the time nobody knew how good you were. so we pulled Thompson as a knee jerk reaction [who's always been better than Bomar]. this was made especially worse b/c you didn't follow up your win with us and lost to some chump the very next week [damn man, you killed us and yourself there, wtf happened?]

and then... then you go on that amazing run. but too late for Thompson. the damage was done. that's why i hate you now. if you're gonna come in and play like that, follow that shit up.

dude, threeball, im bustin yer chops. ask around-- i'm one of the biggest fans of mid-major football around. and that's cool that yer playin next year (as I think I've said in the other thread)

threeball said:

Naa, he just didn't have the grades to get into a real school.

It's a ****ing joke, the LT quip, the BCS, and your holier than thou crusade in this thread. Quit crying, everyone knows the rules going into the season. The system sucks. In other news, America landed on the moon.

OK, who the hell kidnapped my team's unemotional coaching staff and replaced them with guys that got our players to write AWESOME stuff like this on their gloves?

provethemwrong.jpg

This shit was all an elaborate orchestration. I know it.

Give the guy a break - he's probably mad that TCU would have gone undefeated last year if they hadn't lost their big rivalry game at... Southern Methodist. :lol

But if he got over that, it would be hard to get over the TCU 2003 season. That year they were undefeated into November, so people for the first time actually started watching TCU games. Afterall, this was a possible BCS team if they won out. Having national pressure on the program for the first time all year (which the Top 25 schools have every week), they got it handed to them - losing by 25 at the start of the 4th quarter.

Non-BCS teams get screwed when they have talent - but they don't have to deal with half the crap BCS conference teams do. Who the hell cares who wins the WAC or Horizon conferences? When these schools develop strong programs for a long period of time, they end up moving up the conference food chain.

that's an awesome pic karak

edit: how'd my post go before yours?

oh shit, i can travel time! like the japanese dude on Heroes!

ok now... what to do, what to do. oh i know, I want some warffrles! ;)

Meineke Car Care Bowl
Boston College vs. Navy
Charlotte, NC
Bank of America Stadium
December 30, 2006, ESPN2

Always nice to see BC getting screwed in a bowl game.

That's what you get for trying to hand the ACC the northeast, & lying to your fellow conference mates. Big East loyalty for life - right :P.

I feel for Wisconsin and Auburn. Both should have been in over Notre Dame. It says a lot about the state of the Big 10 and the SEC, and also says quite about the state of other 4 big conferences.

Wow, I can hardly wait. I wonder if the ratings for this game on ESPN will top that of QVC chanel that night...... What would you take as a bet, how many on TV will be watching, vs the few die hards that actually are at the game.....which will be lower.....
