Michigan goes 3rd in their division and they're elite? What else have they done while you've been watching CFB?
I'm thinking last few years

Same reason I almost added Stanford

I think Michigan is absolutely considered an elite team from recruits tryna go somewhere

Bama
Ohio State
Florida State
Oklahoma
Clemson is makin it's way on up
Michigan
LSU maybe

At your age, Clemson should probably be considered elite. Especially if you think Florida State is. They've had a better 6 season run than FSU the past couple years if we keeping it a buck.

Also, why Michigan? They've had like two good seasons recently. And neither wound up close to sniffing a natty. They're not even on the same level as LSU recruitment wise yet.

In other news, Alabama was soooo close to fall camp without any incidents (not counting Robert Foster's bike accident). Gotdammit it, Hand.

Tell me what Michigan has accomplished the last few years. I think some your age definitely perceive them that way, but tell me why. Have they won their division? The conference? Playoff games?

They've definitely improved from what they were, but let's keep it in perspective. Really, Florida has done more than them the last few years. And I don't think Florida fans would be very happy with what has happened in that time.

Haven't done much, but there is still prestige cause it's Michigan. Then the Harbaugh is coaching them...they're still seen as a powerhouse

FSU has the residual Jameis feeling left over plus Jimbo existing.

Clemson has gone from being seen as a team that fucked up to being...ya know great.

Don't inflate Az's ego any more than it already is. ;p

I'll tell you exactly what Michigan has done in the past few years: stayed on the front page of ESPN, SI, and a bunch of other CFB sites. Winning is nice, but when all you see from the media seems to say "this team/coach matters", you might start to believe it.

They're also the only other team not named Alabama to win 10+ games in the last 6 seasons. I guess they had a ton of old perceptions to throw off, but seriously, I think they've had a better recent history than FSU has.

It's all perception honestly

Off their 4-8 season, Oregon received commitment from 4/5* Wide Receiver Arjei Henderson this morning. Guy is the most offered 2019 prospect in the country. Held offers from Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Miami (Fla.), Michigan, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State, UCLA, USC, Wisconsin and more than 30 others.

Tonight Oregon is holding something called Saturday Night Live. There's another two known silent commits and a bunch of other leans at the event (mostly 2018). Might be a big day in Eugene.

Doesn't exist, can't exist, won't exist.

When's the first episode airing?

10/10 would not recommend

Did I miss something?

Oregon has got the following commitments so far today:

2018
4* WR - Miles Battle
4* CB - Verone McKinley III
3* TE/DE - Teagan Quitoriano

2019
5* WR - Arjei Henderson

This is prior to the Saturday Night Live event where more commits are expected. Nice day so far.

Podcast question idea:

Which first year head coach coming from mid-major programs will have the most success in their first year leading a Power 5 program?

A. Tom Herman (Houston -> Texas)
B. PJ Fleck (Western Michigan -> Minnesota)
C. Matt Rhule (Temple -> Baylor)
D. Other

Went to one of those Fan Day things at Nebraska today. Went last year too, but this time I went with a proper white football to get autographed. Got the QBs, the LBs, the DL, most of the DBs, and the specialists (plus position coaches), as well as our OC (Danny Langsdorf) and our new DC (Bob Diaco). There's gotta be at least 50 signatures on this thing.

I'll post pics if anyone is interested.

Harbaugh is a prima donna, no doubt about it. He enjoys the spotlight and he plays the media like a fiddle.

Fall camp starts tomorrow. Almost there...

Just got my ticket package last night - Montana, Fresno State, Nike U, Apple Cup. Can't wait!

Alabama v. Clemson is the #1 game of the year. Currently airing on ESPN-U. Wow Alabama just took a 10 point lead! Its in the bag for them

The #2 game of USC vs Penn State was a fun one to rewatch. Sam Darnold and Trace McSorley should be fun this year as well with pretty stacked teams
.

No chance Clemson can come back against the greatest defense of all time.

lol I forgot Alabama had a 3 point lead with like a minute to go. Hurts gets all the blame, but Alabama's Defense let Clemson march down for that final TD with relative ease. If Alabama just held Clemson to a FG, anything could have happened in OT

giv us ur coach

seriously, i will be watching all the UCF games whenever possible this year
Nah, give him a couple years. Then anyone can take him I guess. Since moving, I'll be happy to make like 2 in person. I'm interested in the QB situation. There was some drama this off-season, but things seem to be stabilized a bit. We started strong last year, but faded a lot to end the season. So Frosty will need to show we can do well over an entire season this year.

Careful, he'll try to make a rivalry with Old Dominion or something, make a trophy, and not tell anyone.

I'd like to take the time to remind the thread that my alma mater will once again go undefeated this year, go ahead and hand them the trophy.

Better luck next year to the rest of you.

99 plays is an extra half of football.

Loss was a team thing since there were earlier plays the defense could've made, but the lion's share of it is squarely on the offense being completely inept. Which I blame Saban and Sark for.

Harris and Jacobs were right there smh

Ah yes, the bits of wooden chair trophy. Podcast listeners will remember we talked about this last year and I think it won worst trophy in CFB.

That it was a joke between Faux Pelini and someone else that was eventually made almost makes it cool.

Jerry Kill, Minnesota's old head coach who had to retire due to seizures has joined Rutgers staff. Glad he could get back into coaching and hopefully his health scares are behind him.
