Hey guys.
He's got a point, but I still found
this response hilarious.
I don't know what Bateman was promised, but Barnett was the starter in the USC game, he just shat the bed and looked scared and slow with any action he saw. He had the job by a slim margin and didn't perform, so boo hoo hoo. If Hurts hadnt played well either, Blake would have had another shot, but I think the season's results speak for themselves.
Ehhhh, what Saban and Kiffin did in the USC game was clearly premeditated. Blake got a mediocre couple of series; then Jalen entered the game and turned over the rock his first snap and went 3 and out the next series. Kept going back out there, though. Not exactly a great example of Saban giving the snaps to the better performer in-game. I think I followed Alabama closer last fall than I ever have because Jalen intrigued me in the spring. He won the job during fall camp. Saban's pretty much said as much himself after the fact.
That said, I don't feel sorry for Blake or Cooper. By all accounts, Blake was a head case who showed occasional flashes, Cooper was consistently mediocre, and Jalen was the only QB moving the offense without making many mistakes. And the team loved the hell outta him. Easy decision, especially given how the season played out. Blake looked better in the limited time he got after Jalen's coming out party, and I hope for his sake that that carries over at ASU. He's clearly talented.
He's not? Good for Bama then.
Yeah. I question some of Saban's discipline decisions, but I think he made the right call here. Da'Shawn didn't drive drunk. Decided to sleep it off in his car, but as some people may not be aware, you don't have to actually drive to get a DUI. It'll probably get plead down to PI.
