Bah. I was hoping OU would wear something a little more outrageous to bring out the blue in the field. Don't get me wrong, those uniforms are atrocious, but not enough neon green!

Hey guys, I've got good news.

The mountains are blue. I can drink now. WHOOOOOO!!!! LETS GO DUCKS! LETS GO DUCKS!

Clearly Oregon/Boise St are trying to one up the previous game for worse game of the season right out of the gate.

Well this opening day has been pretty anti-climatic. everyone looks sloppy in these games. Upsets could happen saturday if other good teams come out unprepared.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

How the hell did we score only 7 points?! Gotta fix the kicking game and stop making mistakes late in drives.

Also, NCSU has some truly shitty student fans that can't hold their liquor. Tonight was the first time I've had any physical encounters with opposing fans, and it wasn't just one. Fuckers.

On that note: 0 touchdowns in 8 quarters, suck it :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol

Even if Boise State wins this game, one win doesnt make you one of the best teams in the country. Boise State is never going to get respect as long as the WAC is as bad as it is. If Boise State was in the MWC and beat Oregon along with TCU/Utah/BYU then they have a much better case.

Yeah, I dunno. If they go undefeated and Oregon still goes the season with only 2 losses or so, it'll still look pretty good. The thing is, BSU has been performing at that level for what, five years now? The only one close to them is Utah, and all these other mid-majors are one or two year flashes in the pan. So I wouldn't write off BSU just yet.

Their schedule is awful outside of Oregon. They have to have Nevada to beat Notre Dame/Missouri, Fresno beat Wisconsin/Cincinnati. Basically they need another Top 25 win.

No one can seem to forget them beating OU, but everyone already forgot them getting exposed against TCU last year. Boise St. and Notre Dame for the NC

TCU has probably has a similar talent level to those two teams and has consistently scheduled tougher opponents to boot.

FWIW, I don't think the MWC is all that mid major any more. I have a hard time saying the Big East or ACC is too far ahead of them at this point.

MWC is better than the Big East and has been better than the Big East. I dont see how anyone can argue that. The funny thing is that if it wasnt for Ohio St, I think MWC is better top to bottom than the Big 10.

Yeah. No. I'm usually against the Big10 hate to begin with but that's a pretty ridiculous statement. Top to bottom? No way.

By the way: great take from Holtz just now about Ohio State scheduling Navy for their first game. "Why would you schedule a team that runs the triple option for your first game when you're gonna get chop blocked all game, then wake up the next day and have to change your defensive gameplan almost entirely for your next opponent?"

It is a little over the top.. but Utah and TCU would have been in the running for 3rd best team pretty consistently over the last 5 years. And a few of those seasons they easily could have challenged for 2nd best team in the conference.

BYU is a pretty decent team as well.. and Colorado St, Air Force and New Mexico have all had their moments.

Don't forget that the MWC went something like 7-1 against the PAC-10 last year. I actually think the MWC, at least at the top, can hold it's own against any conference, including the SEC. (Ask Alabama)

I really do not feel sorry for Oregon fans. I have a hard time figuring out which I hate more, Oregon fans or Red Sox fans.

Their co-eds are crazy hot though.

Maybe I did overreach with MWC being better than the Big 10, but I think the post is they are more in the conversation with the Big 10 than the Big 10 is with SEC/Big 12.

Also, I think ACC gets a lot more crap then the conference deserves. The problem is there is no elite teams. Just 2-3 very good ones and 4-5 good ones. Its a surprisingly deep conference right now.

I think they have 2-3 good teams and 4-5 average teams.

If you drop Texas Tech in the ACC over the last 5 years they would have very likely walked away with as many conference titles.

I love all the amateurish shit the first week of a season.

It's like everyone forgets how to do everything. Even ESPN. Did you guys see the TEAM LOGO placeholder on the stat sheets?

:lol :lol

THEY DID IT, THEY DID IT!!!

I need a gif of that fan they show right after...

THE FIRST DOWN.

I know thats not true because in 2007 they lost to an ACC team in a Bowl game. They probably would have won last year but other years they probably would have been competitive, though not a sure thing they win the title.

I saw that too.

Yay Oregon finally gets a first down. Actually a couple first downs. Ducks are getting down to business finally. Now they just need to seal the deal and start scoring points.

EDIT: TOUCHDOWN DUCKS!

Nope. They won that game against UVA..

I may have overspoken.. VaTech had some good teams a few seasons back.. 5 years might have overstated it a bit.

For some reason I read that as a loss. Im not doubting that Texas Tech would compete year to year, but I dont think they were heads above all the ACC except for last year. Of course I would argue that Texas Tech would have won any college football conference outside of the SEC, Big 12, and Pac 10 last year.
