Hey King Gondo, you're an OSU fan? What do you think of the new Cowboy song? :lol
OSU fan and alum. Aaaaand... the SONG SUCKS. The only reason he got to write the song is because his dad is Associate Athletic Director.

Thankfully it's not playing when the team comes out, or during the team video, but Christ that song is pathetic. There's a big movement to get it banned, but there's Nike money and athletic department people behind it. :(

About 30 rows up, 25 yardline, visitors' side. I guess some people are putting $$$ above the program, but there should still be about 55,000 there on Saturday.

And not to put to much weight on it, but if we win it'll be the biggest win in OSU history. We're due for some good luck and for a big win, and we're catching UGA at the right time.

I just love how he stuffed the hell out of Moreno. I was so sick and tired of hearing about how unstoppable he was from every trailer-trash redneck in town. The Gators and, more importantly, GT's win over them has given me an off-season of pure bliss. :D

Look for me in costume on TV when we play Texas :lol Anybody have good costume ideas? Something derogatory to Texas would be nice.

What is OSU's schedule this year? Do they play both OU/Texas?
All the Big 12 South teams play each other every year, and then they play three of the teams from the north on a rotating schedule.

Hmm, anything else difficult? If they win the Georgia game I think they're potential NC contenders. Sure, getting past those three is pretty daunting but I'm not sold on OU one bit and I think another year of play is going to do wonders for those skill players.

In order of difficulty, here's our schedule:

1) OU (away) Bob Stoops is like 80-2 in Norman since he arrived. Ouch.
2) UGA (home) Not necessarily a better team than Texas, but the pressure of winning such a huge season opener + the off-the-field distractions + the SEC mystique put this above Texas for me.
3) Texas (home)
4) Texas Tech (home)
5) Houston (home)

Besides that, our road schedule isn't too bad. Baylor, A&M, and Iowa State should be solid wins. But that's the problem with being OSU/Texas Tech--you have to go on the road to either Texas or OU every. single. year. And unless our defense is way better than projected, I don't think we can win in Norman.

What do you return on the d-line? Considering the pub/? around OU's O-line, I think Bradford could see a significant drop this year. Overall, that's a pretty rough schedule. Houston is never a pushover (we played them 2006/07)...

Our D-line is mostly intact, but that's not saying much. We were actually decent against the run last year, but we were last in the Big 12 in QB pressure. I'm actually optimistic about the D as long as nobody else gets hurt (we had our starting middle LB go down this past week). Our new Defensive coordinator (Bill Clay) was coordinator at Kansas during their Orange Bowl run, and he's already said the level of talent at OSU is far and away superior to the '07 Jayhawks.

Every year we find ourselves saying this, but if the defense improves into the top 50 nationally, there's no reason we can't find ourselves in BCS territory pretty quickly. But the hardest positions to recruit are DT and DE, and we're still pretty much 1-deep on the DL and at CB (which is where we run into trouble against OU and UT, who are 2-3 deep at almost every position).

EDIT: And I think the rumors of OU's O-line demise have been greatly exaggerated. They have so much talent that a "down year" for them is still pretty good by anyone else's standard. The Gresham loss hurts, though, especially since they just moved the backup TE into the starting center slot.

Another Buckeye fan here! Can't wait to see TP back in action next year and I'm anxious to see what the defense is going to look like. The d-line didn't really come on until the middle of the season last year so I'm hoping they pick up where they left off in abusing Texas's o-line.:D

Of course I'm not really all that confident about the USC game this year, at least not as much as I was last year. Last year we had all of the experience and returning talent while the Trojans had to break it a new quarterback and a new o-line...and they still handled our veteran defense with ease. Now things are looking a bit more even across the line despite the fact that mobile qbs give the Trojans fits. Still, it's hard to bet against Pete Carroll with his non-conference record.

Edit: Oops I meant record! Don't know what came over me!

Gresham out for the BYU/Oklahoma game. That helps BYU out a bit and makes it only a 91% chance of a blowout now.

C'mon, Cougs...it's a perfect time for an upset.

I am cautiously optimistic about the Buckeyes this season. I'm still finding it hard to reconcile 37 new players, 21 freshman or sophomores in starting roles, 12 starters gone, no proven playmakers on offense, some lingering questions on defense with a #5 ranking. It just doesn't make any sense. Of course, Florida was in this situation a few years ago, and that turned out okay.

Hell, with all of these new faces, I'm more worried about Navy than USC at this point. It will be interesting to see how these new players fare out. I expect most of the fancy stuff will be held out for USC, but this is the most interested I've been in a season opener in quite some time.

All I know is that if OSU can't beat USC this year, then they'll pretty much waste their last good chance to do so for years to come.

I just bought a 24-pack of Bud Light Black and Gold cans. I don't even like Bud Light that much, but it's something I couldn't really pass up on.
You guys need to call Marshall and both of you can come back to the MAC. We need some good competition in here again. It's become pretty much a 3 team conference (Central Mich, Western Mich and No Ill) with one or 2 teams rotating into the top echelon every year.

annnnnd nobody's taking a stance on the Hulk Hands beer koozie? I think i'm gonna go for it.

I really think that with some spray paint of my alma maters colors, this could be a great tailgate accessory.

Yeah the Navy game will be quite telling. Plus the pre-season ranking isn't really that shocking since there really isn't a team I'd put above OSU. After Florida, Texas, Oklahoma, and USC it's pretty much a crap shoot.

I like our chances. I think they doubled. From like 1% to 2%.

Go Heels!

I'll be at the NC State game tonight though, I want to see the Gamecocks beat that ass firsthand.

It's a fumblefest!

First carry after 2 years of recovering from knee surgeries and immediately fumbles, that's gotta be a confidence breaker.

Wow, generous spot there, South Carolina's defense is looking pretty beefy.

Holy crap, this is just going all wrong for NC State to start.:lol

Could be watching on ESPN360 at the office but I think that's a little too obvious so I just have the GameCast up. What the hell is going on with the Wolfpack? Ugh. Not a good start for the ACC :(

I love how one down after praising a guy for a tackle and saying he was benched last year for poor tackling, that same guy just bounces off a receiver he hits in the backfield and the announcers say "well he was benched last year for poor tackling"

So apparently the Sooners will be without Jermaine Gresham for at least Saturday against BYU, and possibly for longer... The OU coaches aren't divulging the extent of the injury.

Sucks for them, because now opposing defenses can really hone in on their inexperienced receivers, as they lost both Iglesias and Johnson from last season. I honestly think this gives BYU a chance to beat them. Not much of a chance, but a chance nonetheless.

Torn meniscus. 6-8 weeks is the word on the pay sites. .

South Carolina sure is dominating for it only being a 7-0 game.

South Carolina is basically self destructing mid-way through good drives otherwise this would be a blowout.

Edit: and ESPN is being more retarded than usual.

The Promise parody was so terrible it was great. Lou should have given it though. Needed more slurring. :lol :lol :lol

It's obvious ESPN hasn't learned from the last time they hyped up a team to be the Best Team Ever In Life.

Last time they did this and we started the season number 2 I liked the way it worked out.

Let 'em do it again.
