Just read Gaborn's obit. Damn.
Was it finally posted?
No, just finally found it myself. It doesn't provide any information, really, but underscored how sad it was that he had been dead for over a month before anyone here knew.
So if Indiana can upset Wisconsin this saturday and win out the rest the way they will rep the leaders divsion.
Wtf.
FYI, they currently sit at 4-5.
Actually Wisconsin plays both Ohio State & Penn State left, so unless they win both those games all Indiana has to do is beat Wisconsin (game is at Indiana) and Purdue (who is in freefall) and they'd go via tiebreaker.
Only if NC State is putting on VA Tech's uniforms. There is no legitimate reason why FSU shouldn't roll Va Tech. I would be surprised if we lose though.. we are cursed on Thursday nights.
Any chance on Gameday being in Tuscaloosa?
Have they been there yet this year? They don't like to go places more than once but they've done it before. What other marquee games are there? If Auburn wasn't dogshit they'd probably be there this week.

Gameday was at Dallas for Alabama/Michigan and at LSU for Alabama/LSU. Have not been to Tuscaloosa.
Then probably so. Though I'm not sure if they'd want to be at a game that Bama's at 2 weeks in a row. I don't know where else they'd go.
Really the best chance to have them in town this year. Ain't going to be the Iron Bowl.
So, combined with not alot of great matchups elsewhere, should get them in town, unless they decide to do one of their "small town matchups" they do every once in awhile.
I think I saw that they are doing game day from an aircraft carrier this week
Might be basketball gameday. Ohio State plays Marquette friday night on the carrier.
I dunno. Not like ill advised playing fields haven't been a thing in the past. Remember the Northwestern game at Wrigley? When 2 feet from out of bounds was a brick wall? So they could only play in one direction.
Falling into the ocean will teach you to get your feet down in bounds
@Samantha_Steele things I'll remember from this week: Saban telling me he watches Gladiator "to relax"
In the fourth quarter, as the Ducks were grinding out the clock to hang on to a 62-51 victory, Barner had 12 carries. Which is remarkable because, in the previous eight games of the season, he had all of 10 fourth-quarter carries total.
The methodology: Accept that Barner's 63.3 percent of Oregon's carries at USC (38-of-60) would be the standard for a close game. Then apply that to the Ducks' total number of rushes in each game of the season, to figure how many carries Barner would have had were those all to have been close games. Having arrived at a new number of total carries for Barner in each game, apply his average yards per rush against each opponent to that particular total, and arrive at a new rushing total for that game.
(I'm no trained statistician, so if this is flawed, let me know.)
The conclusion: Through nine games, Barner would be at 310 carries and 2,317 yards, well above LaMichael James' single-season UO record of 1,805 last season. Were the Ducks to reach the Pac-12 title game and thus play in 14 games this season, Barner would be on pace for 482 carries and 3,604 yards this year, both FBS records and a 7.47-yard average, which would make him Oregon's career rushing leader, too, at 5,460 yards.
One of the goofy elements of this experiment is that Barner's 321 yards at USC would only be his third-highest total in the last three weeks.
Had he carried a similar workload against Arizona State on Oct. 18, he'd have run for 340 yards. And his totals against Colorado last week? Oh, just 36 carries for an FBS single-game record 416 yards.
They'd have to have a fence or something. Otherwise if you accidentally overthrow a ball, it's gone.
:lol
Depends which conference is playing.
Yeah... no. That's insane. He had 38 carries against USC. There's absolutely no way Barner could sustain that kind of workload every week.
Stanford (#1 in the nation against the rush), and Oregon State (#5)...
These can't possibly be right. I heard they don't actually play defense out there in the West.

Well in their defense, I don't think anyone in the West runs the ball (except for Oregon).
We do! But like the rest of our offense, we take weeks off at times.

Yes... Just a matter of hours now.I'm going to be so happy to not have political ads ruining football games anymore. They were just unbearable here in Central FL. Some commerical breaks were nothing but politcal ads.

Well, outside of Oregon, nobody really runs the ball in the PAC 12. So those numbers are boosted greatly from that. Stanford's top teams they've played were USC and Notre Dame who are ranked #78 and #51 in rushing offense.
Jeff Tedford laughs at you.
Come to think of it, I think a number of Pac teams run more than pass.
*checks stats*
Yep. Oregon, obviously. And us, ASU, UCLA. Actually, it looks like the only teams that pass more than run are Arizona, USC, OSU, and Wazzu.
See above.
