I appreciate you sharing this, but as an Aggie, I must protest the use of the phrase "Pep Rally." Aggies don't have pep rallies, we have Yell Practices--where the 12th man practices our yells before the game/match/tourney.

However, thanks for sharing!

Is anyone willing to pretend that they are a Syracuse fan, so I can talk smack to them?

I feel disappointed that the only person I can talk smack to here is Godfather. I can't talk smack to the WVU fans, because, well, they own Schiano.

Bring it Rutgers scum.

I am in no way a Syracuse fan, this is just my feeble attempt at pretending

RC was getting pantsed by Mack Brown and Bob Stoops in recruiting his last couple seasons. This was also when A&M considered themselves to be better then Texas, and finishing 5th in the Big 12 South was unacceptable, not that we would know what that's like. *shifty eyes*

And no, he never finished a season under 500. I think the ags just saw what Texas and OU were able to do with just a good coaching hire, and thought they had a sure fire winner with Franchione. Worked out well for them.

Did we chant both "Pooooooor ag-gies!" and "KEEP RC!" in 2002? Yes, yes we did.

I kinda wish it wasn't a bye week. We need something positive to happen and I expect we'll be the favorite in all our games until UF so I could go for a win... obviously giving EJ another week to heal is imperative though. On the positive side, under no circumstances do I expect the Gators to win against LSU or Alabama so that should be nice to see the next two weeks.

Looks like we both got what we wanted with that Fran hire. Texas got a shitty hire out of Texas A&M (that drove them into the ground completely) and Alabama fans got the glee from watching it happen to Franny.

Excellent.

I once visited Syracuse.

It made me think that New Jersey was a tropical paradise.

I in no way actually believe this

I'm learning entirely too much about Big East teams this morning. The madness must stop. I will say though, that this did impress me about Rutgers.

On April 10, 2008, students at Rutgers University broke the Guinness World Record for the "Largest Gathering of People Dressed as Ninja Turtles." 786 members of the University community gathered at the recreation center in Piscataway, New Jersey to accomplish this feat.[89]

On Thursday, April 2, 2009 1,052 students, alumni, and members of the community at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey, USA, captured the Guinness World Record for the "Largest Gathering of People Dressed as Waldo." The event raised money for New Brunswick public schools.

Quite the accomplishments.

I don't know why I enjoy reading Warchant's forum after a loss, but I do. Maybe the Lost Decade has numbed me to the pain of a loss. Or maybe that it was easy to see FSU starting out 2-2, if you didn't get caught up in the hype. The meltdowns have been delicious

Wow, that's... now I kinda feel bad for making fun of them.

So, the day after Tennessee finds out that one of their assistants paid $1,500 directly to Willie Lyles for a $1,446.80 flight (Willie kept the $52.20 difference), now they find out their dog tore its ACL.

Of course it did.
What is it with SEC teams and having mascots that aren't really their mascots?

That's what made me :jnc when Aggy fans were fantasizing yesterday about having "permanent" bragging rights if they beat UT this year and don't play again.

DONT LOOK AT ANY OTHER TIME FRAME

On the bright side for them, Aggy fans are so delusional that they always hold bragging rights... in their heads.

They didn't lose to us on Saturday, they just ran out of time.

Auburn does this too.

It was all about 1983-Present = Modern Football, the only Football that counts.

Guess what happened in 1983 ;)

Then they REALLY harped on 2000-Present

Until Saban got there. They were quiet for a year or 2.

Now it's "Only last year matters"

Only one year counts in Cal-Stanford: 1982.

I've always been a fan of the series record in your lifetime but its different for each person.... that is the only thing that matters to me personally.

You can take it the other way with history..... what happened 30+ yrs ago has no bearing on what happens today. The service academies and ivy leagues are a good example but there are other teams that were awesome 50 yrs ago that do nothing today.

I don't know man, tell me why they call your team the Bayou Bengals as well as the Tigers?
See, there's another one!

Ok, we've got the War Eagle Tigers. The Bayou Bengal Tigers (well ok, Bengal is a type of tiger...). The Crimson Tide Elephants. The Volunteer Dogs.

A third of the SEC doesn't understand how mascots work.

Oh, almost forgot the South Will Rise Again Bear. Any more I'm missing? Is Georgia's bulldog secretly also a red-tailed hawk?

But why does what happened in your lifetime have any more relevancy than anything else?

By your logic, what happened when I was 2 has nothing to do with what Texas is doing today. Hell, what Texas did last year has no bearing on todays team given the coaching changes.

College Football powers are built on legacy and tradition, which means you go back to the history of the program. Of course there are old powers that fell by the wayside, but there are a number that have been consistently great for a very very long time. They have all had down periods, but that's the history of the program.

To mix my sports metaphors, the Yankees aren't the Yankees because of George S. They are the Yankees because you can go back 100 years and look at the most dominant team in US pro sports.

EJ may have made the game more interesting, but it was teh Defense who failed the team on Sat. But yeah, the bye week is very much needed right now. FSU is banged up pretty bad.

Like I've been telling my friends, before we know it, FSU will be 5-2, maybe even 6-2, and back in the Top 20. Love playing that ACC schedule. :)

Aggy has an army dude (Sarge?) and a dog. And they are fightin farmers.

Maybe they belong in the SEC.
