Go read the thread about the lady driving on the sidewalk to get around the bus. There are two bannings for using that word in like the first 20 posts.

My understanding is Bitches, leave is fine if done in a joking manner.
But if you were addressing that at female posters, for example, you could be banned. So I don't really think anything has changed. But enforcement and vigilance might be up, so caution is advised.

Utah is having a bad year yes (losing starting quarterback is never easy). ASU doesn't get to talk about us not deserving our spot though.

That screen by Hays earlier was just spectacularly bad in every way. Tons of defenders, no vision on the receiver, ball hung in the air, thrown in a spot where the defender would have an automatic touchdown if they got a pick, just horrifying.

I don't remember those ever being permitted in my time here.
I think a lot of the backlash is coming from people who were involved with the whole NBA-Age vs Devolution summer scandal that happened. That and the separation of OT into two areas were definite turning points in Neo-Gaf moderation.

Our QB is still 18 years old but the schedule has been pretty great in getting him primed. Hell, the team only has 6 seniors on it or something crazy like that.
Ball security has been an issue although it seems more of 'lack of focus' thing at this point.
Nice win for USC tonight - the ASU game just got big.

Really, if you're my age (34), Oregon is basically Florida State at this point. Their days of being the new kid on the block are long over; they've been perennial top 10 for a while now.

I've just accepted that hypocrisy exists everywhere from legislation in the US government all the way to GAF forums. Mods here are trying to maintain a forum that pleases the majority, which is understandable. If more people voiced their distaste for the word "dick" than "cunt", then dick would be banned. Mods usually only ban words, phrases, and memes that they feel almost always cause the discussion to spiral out of control and diverted away from the original post. I haven't been in the thread yet, but I'm actually very pleased to see the "Is GAF too strict" topic still alive. GAF isn't a perfect community, but no community is. I'm sure the mods are leaving it up to read through all the constructive criticism, and they will take a lot of what was suggested into account.

Banning "bitch" was a bridge too far, in my opinion. Quite honestly, I think the way some things are moderated here doesn't really leave you knowing what's okay and what will get you banned. GAF would probably be better off going back to the days when all curse words were banned to appease the advertisers, just to provide some clarity.
I find my time on GAF dwindling as of late. If it weren't for these threads, I'd probably stop coming altogether.
