College Football Week 6 - If the Stanford Tree falls...

getting there, mre, getting there.

It's one thing to say something chauvinistic, it's another to have something twisted into being perceived as chauvinistic, especially by a mostly anonymous group of people, who have various (and invisible) boundaries of what they tolerate.

So, best to avoid talking at or about people in general. Talk in clinical tones and safe words. Use lots of "and's, an's, the's, of's, oh's, and ...'s"

Can't wait till people start getting banned in the Giant Bomb topics, especially during live events. We could be laughing about subjects being discussed on another website (one that isn't quite as moderated), and boom, graveyard.

Pretty much.

Banning "bitch" was a bridge too far, in my opinion. Quite honestly, I think the way some things are moderated here doesn't really leave you knowing what's okay and what will get you banned. GAF would probably be better off going back to the days when all curse words were banned to appease the advertisers, just to provide some clarity.

I find my time on GAF dwindling as of late. If it weren't for these threads, I'd probably stop coming altogether.

If it wasn't for this thread and the fact that I play Madden with people from GAF I'd probably leave too. Especially now that I know where all the advertising money is going.

Follow my 3 step plan to not getting banned on NeoGaf:

1. Don't post in Gaming
2. Don't post in any thread started by ChiTownBuffalo
3. Don't post or continue to post in any thread that has been touched by Devolution

??????

I am curious now. I am not "in the know".

Bing Fucking O.

Where's the Button to publicly guffaw at that little jewel.

Eh, if you're referring to Evilore's Europe trip, that doesn't bother me. He owns GAF; let him reap whatever rewards come from it.

Amen to that.

I don't have a problem posting in those threads.

Maybe I'll prepare a handy posting guide y'all can print up and hang up next to your computing space so you won't be so scared in future.

What's wrong with Devolution again? I forgot.

A lot of people on GAF feel the same way she does about gender/sex issues but she posts so frequently in any thread related to them that she has developed a reputation, particularly because she's extremely sarcastic and aggressive.

Not to say that there's anything 'wrong' with her but that seems to be why she's the person that people call out in particular.

There's nothing wrong with her per se, she's just aggressively belligerent and a lot of people on here are baited really easily. She does enjoy a bit more mod backing then a lot of people as well but its nothing especially worrisome I suppose.

Meh, I think LSU pulls it out. They have fumbled through the past few games but I think they will come ready for the Gatas. Though they may have to pull some of their typical last second voodoo shenanigans to make it happen.

I would never want a member of CFB-Gaf banned.

I just had a couple graveyard threads. Oh, the victim blaming.

Amen.

I pretty much only come here to bullshit with you assholes anymore.

If I see a topic Ill post a one off snarky comment in and move on with me day.

I think you're right. Voodoo hat wins the game with a last second missed field goal or poor clock management or somesuch thing

I don't really have any confidence in Florida or LSU to consistently move the ball, it's going to be all defense all day. One big turnover and kickers will probably decide the game.

So is this now the the Is Gaf too strict, and occasionally we will talk about College Football, thread? I guess this is the place of lesser oversight for bitching, but maybe that means we shouldn't be bitching here?

I'm pretty sure the dog in the middle is male.

Maybe they are requesting them?

The comma makes everything vague.

I was requested to be banned in IRC by a certain poster. Betcha can't guess who.

BYU vs UT State to to tonight ... Should be a good game.

They play Sunday, too! Picture-in-picture exists for a reason! The only way Game 1 can go worse than last time is if Cain throws a perfect game. Pretty unlikely, right? RIGHT???

I know they play sunday too, but wanted to watch game 1 as well. Wont be able to see much of it if any as i'll be at the OSU game.

My cousins go to IU, so I can just crash at their place. Plus none of the other away games seemed to great this season. Want to save up my money too since I think Cal is my away game next season.

I'm trying to get to that one, too.

My best friend (OSU alum) goes to law school at Davis and his fiancee goes to law school at Berkeley. Hopefully she can get me a ticket.

I doubt tickets will be hard to come by, hell I got my ticket for the game at Nebraska last year at face value.

T.I. and Scott Stapp are Alabama fans.

Have you been formally introduced to T.I. — rapper, actor, father and hero? During a promotional run for his new memoir, Scott Stapp, the lead singer of Creed, revealed that Tip literally saved his life after an attempted suicide.

Stapp, who opens "Sinner's Creed" with the harrowing story, shared an abbreviated version of the events during a visit to VH1's "Big Morning Buzz Live." Stapp explained that he'd checked into the penthouse of Miami's Delano Hotel during a drug binge. After days of being awake, phantom voices and the hotel's white walls prompted visions of being trapped in an asylum, and Stapp jumped over his balcony, falling 40 feet. He fractured his skull, broke his hip and nose and couldn't move. Then, in comes T.I. "I laid out there for two and a half hours and my guardian angel showed up — rapper T.I.," Stapp said. "He immediately took care of the situation and saved my life."

Amazingly enough, the two musicians had crossed paths just once before. "I had met T.I. back in 2004, we were both writing songs for The Passion of The Christ: Songs Inspired By soundtrack and we had briefly interacted there and knew what each looked like," he revealed. "We'd talked about being fans of Alabama."

"It's ironic — he walked in, and I found out later it was the only room left in the hotel and he came in off the street and came out, and as I'm laying on the ledge, blood fell to [T.I.'s] feet and he looked up and he had an Alabama hat on. I said, 'roll tide,' and then he looked at me and put two and two together and really saved my life."

This isn't T.I.'s first time playing hero in a life or death situation. In 2010, en route to a music video shoot, he talked an Atlanta man out of jumping off a 22-story building. "Nothing is that bad. Nothing in life is worth taking your life," T.I. was heard telling the man in video footage. "I'm here to help you. Please come down to talk to me."

Have you gotten your copy of "Sinner's Creed" yet? Let us know in the comments!

MOLTEN HORROR!
