As one of maybe three or four Northwestern fans on GAF, I strongly caution anyone betting on them winning at PSU!
1. Penn State has rocked them in this series over the long term. They've won 12 out of 15 meetings.
2. "Northwestern has lost its last four games as a ranked team in the AP poll dating back to 2001." Enough said.
I'm a HUGE Northwestern fan, but they haven't won a game ranked since 2000. If they DO pull out a win against PSU, then all bets are off for their season (and the B1G title race), but I wouldn't bet on it.
Was looking over Notre Dame's roster earlier - I know it means little-to-nothing at all, but still - they have really good size. Like elite size. Bama size. When you think back on their recruiting classes, even under Weis, you wonder, maybe a good coach is truly all they've been missing. Not saying they're for real - yet - but I'm closer to thinking they might be than I have been in over a decade.
Thanks, but I'm picking against Penn St whenever they turn up in the pick em, no matter who their opponent is.
Go Cats!
Cyan knows what's up.
I would probably actually bet cash money on Penn State losing this weekend

I am heartened by this, if still skeptical. Can't trust anything beyond my own nervous fan skepticism.
Notre Dame has always recruited well. Kinda like UCLA. (sorry Karakand, not really)
As to the actual game. I like Northwestern like I like Duke, in a loveable (but slightly less) loser sense. Anyways, I think you guys win, and look damn good doing it. Seriously, those new unis are awesome. The only good thing Under Armour has ever done.
I will vote for Sparky. Especially if he provides me some ASU coeds in return for my vote.
Rounding error.![]()
I bet Stanford teaches rounding to their students.

12pts isnt so bad for my first week.
I watched the Ole Miss v Alabama and parts of Michigan State v Ohio last week. How many games do you have to watch a week to be able to get a feel of the form? Or do you guys just read heaps about it all?
Well on weeks I dont actually go to our home games I watch the following:
Thursday night game, flip between the noon games, usually there will be one decent game on at 3:30 that I usually watch majority of it, then the 8pm game is usually the big game of the day and ill watch it.
Sometimes youll get a Pac-10 team playing at 10 and ill watch that game up until its not a game anymore (about halftime).
So you have to guess a lot of the pick 'ems as well then?
I am finding it hard to read up about match previews for all of these pick 'ems
Still shun you for last weeks pick Bertram....
They have the size but they don't have the SEC speed™. The B1G was always just as big. Doesn't mean shit.
Thanks for the heads up. Switching to Virginia by 85Vegas has not released a line on UVA/Duke because nobody knows our starting QB's status. Boone is a capable back up to Renfree but I don't think we win without Sean. You may want to adjust your picks accordingly.

On August 2, 2012 The NCAA Division I Board of Directors approved a process that would allow 5-7 teams to become bowl eligible, in case there aren't enough bowl-eligible teams to fill every game.
The tie-breaking process order for selecting teams if there are not enough slots to fill: First consideration goes to 6-6 teams with one win against FCS teams, regardless of whether that FCS school meets NCAA scholarship requirements. Until now, an FCS win only counted if that opponent met the scholarship requirements, Next up for consideration would be 6-6 teams with two wins over FCS schools, Teams that finish 6-7 and lose in the conference championship game are next, Then come 6-7 teams that normally play a 13-team schedule, such as Hawaii and its home opponents, FCS teams who are making the transition to the FBS, if they have at least a 6-6 record., Finally, the nod would go to 5-7 teams that have a top-5 Academic Progress Rate score.

Dudes still making millions playing a game, good for him.
wow....doing horrible in the Pick Em this season.
Good CFB QB who had superior talent around him. This allowed him to put up gaudy numbers, and he had ESPN fellating him 24/7.
I would think OSU fans hate Tebow

I'm not a tebow fan at all, but if you can make millions of dollars playing a game. More power to you. Would have to argue right now is the best time of his life. Backup QB, that everyone wants to play, making millions, without actually really playing and getting shit on.
People that think that being a professional athlete is making millions of dollars "playing a game" really have no idea what goes into being a professional athlete. Same with people saying college athletes get a free education for playing a game.
It is some hard, hard, HARD work.
Meh, I don't see why they would outside of the fact that so many do and he was on Florida. While it is true Florida doesn't make that game without Tebow, Chris Leak was throwing hot fire in the MNC game, and they win that game with or without Tebow.
I know how hard of work it is, but most of us do work hard at our jobs. Regardless, dude is still makig millions of dollars.
