Yeah sure. Too late for Stanford the past 2 years :|
Oh I was all for it last year after my team fucked everything in the BCS up. LSU/Bama/OSU/Stanford would have been a hell of a thing to watch.

Coaches' Poll

19 West Virginia 5-2 326 0 22
20 Texas Tech 6-2 284 0 17
22 Texas 6-2 200 0 24

Others Receiving Votes
Northwestern (7-2) 77; UCLA (6-2) 61; Toledo (8-1) 59; Northern Illinois (8-1) 39; Kent State (7-1) 26; Tulsa (7-1) 19; Wisconsin (6-3) 15; Arizona (5-3) 14; Michigan (5-3) 11; Louisiana-Monroe (6-2) 10; Ohio (7-1) 9; Cincinnati (5-2) 8; Iowa State (5-3) 6; Utah State (7-2) 4; Western Kentucky (6-2) 4; Mississippi (5-3) 3; Arizona State (5-3) 2; Michigan State (5-4) 1.

Just a couple of things: Tech trounced WVU. KSU trounced WVU and Tech. I know you can't use transitive property as your main argument, but this has to be a joke. Also Texas moving up after beating Kansas(!) by 14 seconds? Garbo. And I love my dear Iowa State, but we shouldn't be receiving votes after the way we played last night against Baylor. Admittedly one of the star LBs didn't play and the other one is hurt, but our QB situation is awful and needs to be resolved fast.

So you're a computer too? I know how the system works. I was speaking to those who think we are overrated despite what the coaches think, what the AP thinks, and the fact that we've blown out every team we've played regardless of where they stood in the rankings. I was asking whether or not we deserve to be in the MNC from an objective standpoint, not from a "I'mma computuh and your schedule sux" standpoint.

*whoosh*

Help computah. Stop all the downloadin.

While I agree Iowa State played like shit yesterday (seriously we could have been up 2-3 scores in the first 5 mins!), don't knock us when we are actually getting some recognition. Its hard enough for anyone to take ISU seriously as it is lol

yeah ill take a 12th ranking, 10th in coaches....looks like if we win out we would get FSU in the Orange, alhough some have us playing FSU in the Sugar. Syracuse has a good passing game, and thats been our weakness, so a little nervous about heading up there, and playing at Rutgers last game of the season is bringing back memories of playing them in 2005, undefeated ranked 7th, where we likely would have gotten OSU in the championship if we didnt drop that game. This team is not that team though. This team is far younger and far less aggressive which worries me.

also apparently ESPN thinks we are ineligible

LSU is ranked over Fl? what

Hell, I think we should be ranked higher than UGA. I get we just lost to them, but we have so many better wins than they do. Who exactly has UGA beaten before us? We also never got blown out by a team.

That's just the nature of polls I guess. Later losses count more against you. We also dont pass the "eye test" but I dont see how uga is any better. We will probably be ranked higher than them in the BCS though.

head to head is the only true measure.

I should clarify my position. Are we getting enough recognition? No. Are we a good team? Definitely. Are we a top 25 team? Ehhhhh, not after last night's performance. If you would have asked me the same question after the Tech, KSU, or TCU games I would have said yes. Then again, I don't think Texas should be ranked after the Kansas game lol

AP Poll

22 Louisiana Tech 24 209
23 West Virginia 25 126
24 Arizona - 106
25 UCLA - 103

Bout what I expected except for Texas moving up. When you have to have a player fake an injury to save a timeout in order to beat freakin' Kansas, everybody, even the dumbass SID's that fill out these polls, should know you suck.

ESPN just trolling the BEAST at this point.

Louisville most underrated team in history?

i think we are rated right about where we should be. if we had been more dominant then i could agree, but we haven't been beating teams by 2-30 like we should be. A large part of that is play calling, we go ultra conservative on both sides of the ball after building a lead.

also this is a pretty cool video of the win/celebration in OT from the field in the downpour

Don't see Strong leaving Louisville for any of the positions that are opening up.

He can still win big in the Big East and accomplish his goals at a program with the name cache and recruiting ability of Louisville.
Arkansas. That's where he is from, and I have a strong feeling that is where he will be next year.

After yesterday's performance, I would have dropped Florida out of the rankings.

God that sucked.

If Oregon and ND go undefeated, I wonder if they'll eye test the USC/Stanford results. Guess that's Oregon 's best hope?

They should do the same for Oklahoma for KSU and ND. Common Opponents are the next best guide next to head to head... Of course, I would say that was Notre Dame's best game by a HUGE margin this year.

I won't say Stanford would have beaten them if they had gotten the goal line call right, but it was a pretty even game...

No I mean, I don't see how UGA is any better than UF in the "eye test." Their offense looked pretty bad yesterday too. They also almost lost to UK.

The eye test is when you look at the score when they played you. I can't believe you even made this post.

Stanford also got some pretty terrible calls against them on that final drive in regulation. 30 yards of penalties.

Haha. Glad people noticed that. How about the two retroactive timeouts Brown got called? Hell, he called a timeout before a play was about to start, expect the timeout was awarded for the play before that was already finished and spotted haha.

Kansas is a better team than Texas and should have won. Kansas is also an awful awful awful football team. What that makes Texas I don't know.

Kansas gave that game away, there is no doubt.

He is saying that we both look like shit, and based on his other criteria (prior resume) Florida should be ranked ahead of Georgia. I don't agree because of how polls work, and head to head, but I understand his point.

Also, NC State.

And they were even called by Pac 12 refs. The fix was in!

You have no idea how accidentally right you are. Pac 12 refs. It has a meaning and that sentence needs no additional words.

What does that even mean? So shouldn't we be ranked ahead of LSU because we dominated their offense, and were able to run over their vaunted defense?

Should FSU be ranked lower then NC State because they held your amazing offense to 16?

This reminds me of my post after the MNC game last year, arguing that LSU should be #1 because they had the better loss.

Yeah, I agree. But it also sucks that playing conservative in the NCAA and still winning gets you "punished" with lower rank/respect. We actually dropped in rank after one of the wins (NC I think). But as in the Cinci game, when Louisville needs to play aggressively in the second half, they do. That was a heartening win.

And it would be ridiculous to assume that Louisville will just win out at this point. Syracuse and Rutgers will be tough games.

Looks like ESPN has a story about Lattimore up saying it was a dislocated knee. No mention of any ligament damage. So I'm not sure of the full extent of the injury.

Nevertheless, apparently him recovering and returning to football is not being ruled out at all.

Story

2014 season opener is the target return date.

I hope that a non career-ender is true. And I'm no medical doctor. But I don't fucking believe that at all. At all!

edit: Okay, actually just read up on knee dislocations. Basically an ACL tear on steroids, with potentially multiple ligaments torn. Yeah, it could be that.

After stopping Texas on offense all day, Kansas decided to play prevent defense and not pressure Case Fucking McCoy in the final drive. Sorry, Kansas deserved to lose.

Weis also saved 3 timeouts in that last drive. Even though Mack Brown uses his after the playclock runs out, at least he uses them

What a tragedy.

Damn, he got destroyed in that health insurance thread. Wow. #FailState

I am glad he is banned.

No, not because of the political bullshit, that was lulzy.

The man is a traitor.

One tough as nails guy.

Edit* I agree with the Europeans. We should have named it hand egg or throw ball or maybe even Soccer.

Makes more sense to call a sport where you touch the ball with your foot football.

That is high treason, and I, for one, am glad we rid him from this thread. I would rather have an ND fan then a man that agrees with Europeans on this particular issue.
