I MIGHT be able to see it as sufficient if it wasn't exclusive to MS systems only. They have the potential to lose a lot of sales by not being on the PS3 and I fail to see how $50 million makes up that loss.

Oh yeah, I did miss that lol. I'll have to look at his post history; don't ever recall the $50 mil thing. (I'm a bit new here, sue me) Still, as I said, even if it came out on Sony platforms in addition, I'd still expect the 360 to be the primary money-making platform for EA regardless.

But we'll see. If there are signs that EA wont make as much bank on Titanfall as they'd have liked, then yeah, we'll be sure to see signs of them trying to find a way to weasel their way out of the agreement, or blunt it in some form.

They probably aren't too fond of the idea, but they have to be careful to not release a crap system that's been rushed out the door against what's looking like a casually-strolling-across-the-finish-line Playstation.

Performance comparisons will be made regardless of circumstances or platitudes made by either company.

While I agree, they did get away with it last gen. People just don't seem to care if it's faulty or not, they'll still re-buy it in droves so long as the software is there. They've just invested so much into CoD to make it' seem' like an exclusive, that I just can't see them giving up and letting Sony have first grabs at it. CoD is a system seller, people will drop xbone for the ps4 version if that's what's available on day one.

but $399 would be a worse value proposition that $499, as it would simply be a less powerful PS4, at least with the Kinect in the box there's a chance of a hook, to reel the little fishy consumers in.

Besides if the numbers were so bad they had to ditch kinect there would already be a significant PS4 install base which would act as a word of mouth advertisement to people.

Not to mention if a game require kinect at launch it may not say it on the box as all xb1's have kinect, later on this could cause problems with the kinect less SKU having difficulties such as "please connect your kinect to continue to play Forza"

the numbers would need to be diabolical to make a kinectless SKU after launch.

tl;dr: "SonyPonies" (not a bannable word despite xbots being bannable?) would probably consider the "console war" over if the sales were bad enough for this.

Any Japanese studios that team up with Microsoft would have to be ones that are big enough to appeal to western audiences (despite what CBOAT said) or small enough that they'd jump on any kind of deal.
