It's gonna be crazy if the PS4 is on the market for a solid month before the XB1.

It's like having free exclusivity for next gen versions of all those mulitplats. It would seriously be hard for me to wait for the XB1 version of Ghosts, BF4, Need for Speed, etc.

Have a funny feeling I'm gonna have a PS4 on launch day. lol

Need for speed is the middle of November along with Watch Dogs. Sports, Killzone, Knack is the PS4 launch with maybe AC and BF if its the 29th.

Well, Ghosts releases in November I think, likely in tandem with the X1.

If MS money is keeping Plat alive, we should be happy. If, however, they are paying for a game that will get made reguardless just to fuck with PS4, well that sucks for PS4 owners I guess.

You're deluding yourself if you think the Wii U will sell more of a platinum game then the Xbone. No one buys non-nintendo titles on the Wii U. Just from install base alone, Xbone would likely sell more.

I'm not even worried about the JP moneyhats. That worked well PS360 gen too. The JP devs simply took the money MS gave them and funded further dev for the PS3 versions (usually w/ extra content) once the timed exclusive period ran out.

The sad part is MS doesn't even know this (or doesn't care).

Well, it depends on the game, doesn't it?

If XBONE gets Metal Gear Rising 2 and Wii U gets Bayo 2, I imagine that the XBONE Platinum game would perform better.

If XBONE and Wii U both got TW101, I'm pretty confident it'd do better on Wii U.

Actually, it's a bad idea for MS (since they probably aren't going to see a return on their investment) and a good idea for gamers as a game that would never have been made will be made thanks to the investment that MS put into it. It's the same thing as the whole Bayonetta 2 thing. If Sony wants a piece of that Platinum pie then they'd be chucking money at them to fund exclusive games.

How have they made that clear? Just because they're pulling all their focus to 13 countries rather than 21 doesn't mean they can't launch in the first week of November.

The PS3 version of Lost Odyssey with shorter load times and extra dungeons was classic.

Even if Ghosts comes out at the same time on both systems, Sony launching first by a month or more should give it a pretty big player base advantage.

Third party exclusives can be good or bad:

Good: the game wasn't getting made anyway

Bad: the game was being made and was paid to not release on another console.

We don't know which it is yet, so everyone keep the pitchforks on hold for now.

Still don't think the current gen release dates for those games has any bearing on next gen. Guess we'll find out Tuesday.
