OH MY GOD!!!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE TELL ME THIS HAS BABY SLAP IN IT!!!

There was this arcade game that me and my buddy used to play I think.. a year or two ago (it's gone now) where you chose a baby and you played these mini games.. and one of them was a sumo game where you had to slap (or dodge a slap) each other... it was fucking fun as hell. PLEASE tell me that this is the game I'm thinking of!

That's a pretty weird Japanese game.. but just be glad it's not called "Cum on Baby"

Are you? Insulting the mods isn't the most intelligent thing I've seen posted here.

Though, to be fair, not the stupidest either! :lol

There's pictures of COB 1 & 2's cabs on the ExPotato site:

Look familiar?

edit: TAFA's got the flyer: http://www.arcadeflyers.com/?page=flyerdb&subpage=thumbs&id=2218

double edit: ExPotato is on board for PSP development, too.

i like how the EXPOTATO CORP. logo says "excellent potato" over it, as if the full version of the name clarifies something. well, i suppose it establishes that they are an excellent potato rather than a former potato.

Yes!! That's it!!!

It had a joystick and I think 3 big buttons. There were mini games like sprinting and then jumping (long jump), something with swimming up from the bottom of the ocean, and the games were random, but fucking Baby Slap was a god damn blast. You walk up to your opponent and just fucking give him a five finger discount right across the face, it's great.

This game is actually a few years old. First saw it at ECTS back in 2000. Expotato (Korean) had the arcade box set up there. We got a demo for the PC in the office a couple of months later. Great freakin game. You really need the arcade controls to fully live out the experience of the frantic pounding of oversized buttons for the Baby Slap Fight.

Awesome that it's getting some play now.

I've actually played this game...it's been in the 'Le Fun' arcade in Austin, TX for a few years now. It has these three huge buttons that you have to mash like crazy to make the babies do something, like race or swim. I've only touched the damn thing once, but I seem to remember some sort of Baby Sumo Wrestling being one of the games. :lol

Lol, I posted before seeing that you've played it as well. I'm surprised you actually enjoyed it. It was way too random for my taste. I put 50 cents in, was confused as hell, and just avoided it like the plague every other time I went into the arcade.

Well that would have happened at one time.. but now Nintendo's naming it Nintendogs here in the US as well as Japan, so now most girls will just be like "A Nintendog? What the hell is that?". If it had the word Puppy in it though.. ;) Just kidding..

Nintendogs is a great title compared to the exponentially crappier title of Puppy Times. Who knows which one would have bagged more females. We'll never know..

I played the original arcade game, it's fun as hell. Think Track & Field 2 on NES + wacky Japanese baby antics.

There's also a PC version from a few years ago. The website had a demo that included Baby Slap, which friggin' rocks.

Is this game made in Japan or Korea because SCEK (or SCKE) is Sony Korea, I believe and there's no mention of this game even being listed on SCEJ's site, that I can find.

i knew exactly what this thread was about when i read the title...

there's nothing quite like walking by an arcade and suddenly hear "Coooome oooon baaaby!" from some weird ass arcade machine.. damn bishi bashi knockoff...

the koreans have got to start somewhere, just as their consumer electronics a few years ago and look at them now.

i have played the arcade version of this game briefly, it wasnt great but it wasnt dire neither. perhaps the korean stalls at e3 this year would be bigger? can they ever break out of that basement hall?? time will tell.

...so what do you DO?

You basically just compete against a friend in a bunch of quick little games to see who scores the most points, just like in the BishiBashi series. Or Tant-R if you've ever played that. The buttons are over-sized (like Pop'n Music buttons) to make it easier to frantically slap the hell out of them, though not all of the games are straight button-mashers.

Yeah, they should stick to MMORPGs and War Of Genesis titles for now though :lol
