Comey's Testimony on Huma Abedin Forwarding Emails Was Inaccurate

People looking for any reason to shit on Hildawg. This is about Comey fucking up in a hearing and instead of walking it back he's choosing to conceal! Comey is a clown who seems to care more about the reputation of his agency than proper procedure.

I think the reputation of his agency would probably rank a little higher than salving the damaged ego of politician incompetent enough to have any of her emails sent to Anthony "Carlos Danger" Weiner's computer and lose to Donald Trump.

The procedures on releasing information regarding ongoing investigations and the recommendations of the Justice Department both ignored by Comey existed for obvious reasons. The FBI should also be expected to give accurate testimony before congress and correct errors when they occur.

Not really seeing how this is some zero-sum game where Comey is either aiding Hillary or preserving the reputation of the FBI.

I intend no disrespect, but is he the best we could find for his position as head of the FBI? Really? Maybe it's just this story that he's embarrassing himself in, but I haven't seen anything that makes him actually look good, smart, or well-qualified for the top position in our most important domestic law enforcement entity.

It was definitely questionable when he was appointed, and this is what we get for trying to reach across the aisle and be logical adults who compromise. Comey is known to be such a stooge at this point, but obviously the stooge in chief has a love for him for helping Russia win the election.

Hatch Act violation

I was under the false assumption that the FBI was not under the Executive branch.

Would the state need to prove that Comey intentionally interfered or would unintentional be suffice for a conviction? I believe Comey himself stated during his last hearing with the Senate that an internal investigation of his actions is ongoing.

It's really telling how fucked up people's views of this story are combined with the absolute shit reporting done by news stations.

Just from this thread alone we have people thinking there were classified emails being forwarded to Anthony Weiner.

And this bullshit didn't have an affect my ass... but whatever, time to move on

Some emails is still pretty bad. Sending your spouse classified emails so he can print them out is the stupidest thing I have heard. Hillary and her top aide has a history of poor decision making.

"Neither of those statements are accurate, according to people close to the investigation. The investigation found that Abedin did occasionally forward emails to her husband for printing, but it was a far smaller number than described by Comey, and it wasn’t a “regular practice,’’ these people said. None of the forwarded emails were marked classified but a small number - a handful, one person said - contained information that was later judged to contain classified information, these people said."

Bad sure, but not as bad as Comey made it sound like.

If it's true that the handful that had classified info were marked so retroactively, then it's a plain lie and smear on Abedin , because it then means she sent 0 classified info at the time she did.

It's only a lie if Comey knew what he was saying to be untrue. This is the same standard he explained when the GOP were trying to get him to say Clinton lied about her e-mails during their questioning of her.

Sounds like Comey fucked up here and got the details wrong, and definitely needs to correct the record if that's true. But I don't think there's evidence he knowingly misled anybody about this... and that's the standard.

She forwarded like five emails to her husband.

Most of them were probably Hillary asking somehow to print out a New York Times article.

Your claim is false. As discussed in the OP. None of those mails were classified at the time. Therefore Abedin sent zero classified mails to her gross husband.

James Comey is incredibly incompetent.

And this whole email stuff doesn't make any sense. Something about the connections and the motives seems... off.

Remember the Oppo anxiety of October? The oppo existed, and was suppressed in favor of... this, which let's face it was a fabricated development in a fabricated controversy.

Honestly, it's nearly impossible to say for sure which differences could've altered the outcome with so many blind "Cultural Anxious" voters (though delaying the Access Hollywood release until after the debates would have been helpful). For all of the Clinton camp's self-inflicted setbacks, they certainly were given much more damage from the outside than Trump, whose woes were caused primarily by things he had said or done.

FBI officials have privately acknowledged that Comey misstated what Abedin did and what the FBI investigators found. On Monday, the FBI was said to be preparing to correct the record by sending a letter to Congress later this week. But that plan now appears on hold, with the bureau undecided about what to do.

That sounds like the FBI alright.

People are literally going BUT HER EMAILS! in a thread about Comey misrepresenting shit during a congressional testimony.

The fuck is wrong with some of y'all lmao

I get this feeling whenever Comey is involved. I can't trust anything from that guy and I think people are foolish to put any amount of faith in him or his abilities.

Here is a correction from the FBI:
