The black man everyone at Activision can agree on
DETECTIVE COMICS #805 - Ugh this story is SLOOOOOOW.
GREEN LANTERN REBIRTH #5 - Well since thanks to Infinite Crisis I already know the fate of Kyle Rayner... I guess I'm just kinda long for the ride.... nice to see Hal back.. but the whole Parallax retcon is still a bit of a cop out...
LEX LUTHOR MAN OF STEEL #2
SUPERMAN BATMAN #18 - Geez hope I even REMEMBER what happened in 17... IIRC then 18 should be the fight... kids(Batman/Supes) against parents!
INCREDIBLE HULK #80 - Ugh this story is SLOOOOOW. But it's my man Peter David so I gotta hang in there...

Maybe:
GLA #1
STREET FIGHTER BABERI CVR B #14 - Not sure that I know or care where this series is right now...

FEB050296 JUSTICE LEAGUE ELITE #10 (OF 12) $2.50
DEC040245 SUPERMAN BATMAN #18 $2.95
DEC042538 STREET FIGHTER BABERI CVR B #14 $2.95

I'm kinda back to being on the fence about GLA. I looked at a preview copy when I went to the shop last week, and
it's just sort of a recap of Mr. Immortal's life, his origin and motivations for being a hero, and the general lameness of the GLA in action. There's a fight with a old-school villain I didn't recognize (big helmet), Dinah Soar is killed (she really does speak!), and Mr. Immortal is so overwrought with grief over his lover's death that... well, if you looked at the preview I posted last week, you know he shoots himself in the head.

...Like that's gonna do any good. :lol

Eh, we'll see.

SEVEN SOLDIERS ZATANNA #1 - Nice cover on this one. I'm liking the whole Seven Soldiers experience so far, so I'll probably read them all. (Side Note: Did anybody read about the Grant Morrison appearance last weekend. That guy knows how to give an interview. I'm totally ashamed of myself for not being there... I had no idea it was happening until after the fact. This will haunt me.)

EYESHIELD 21 VOL 1 TP - Actually, I think this came out last week, because I ordered it online last week. Anyway, I kind of like this book. I can't explain it, but I do. I read some scans before it was licensed, and it sort of hooked me. It's more the 'crazy manic humor' thing, rather than the 'football sports comic' thing that got me into it. But, like, at the same time... if it were a comic about croquet I probably wouldn't be reading it. Well, my reasoning makes sense to me. (There's a show coming out soon based on it... one of those animated shows from Japan. I might watch.)

GREEN LANTERN REBIRTH #5
SUPERMAN BATMAN #18
Astonishing X-Men #9
Countdown to Infinite Crisis
BATTLE ANGEL ALITA LAST ORDER VOL 5 GN
BLEACH VOL 6 TP
STREET FIGHTER BABERI CVR B #14

Pretty light week. I'm almost sure Battle Angel Alita won't be in Border's when I go there, so I'll just get something else. Countdown sold out last week, and I bought the special edition of Astonishing X-Men #8 instead of 9 last week.

Hey, kids! Comics!

Seven Soldiers: Zatanna #1 (of 4) - We love you, Grant.
Y: The Last Man #32 - We love you, Brian.
Walking Dead #17 - We love you, Robert.
GLA #1 (of 4) - We love you, Dan.
Ultimate Fantastic Four #17 - We love you, Warren.
Ultimate Spider-Man #75 - We don't love you so much, Brian. This better pick up soon.
Maison Ikkoku Volume 10 - And, almost two decades after publication and the horrible, drawn out non-resolutions of two later series, I've still got a little bit of love for Rumiko Takahashi.

Some not-so deep thoughts:

I ended up getting GLA after all. Man, that was a little... heavy. Pretty depressing piece of work, considering the cast of characters and abundance of nuttiness. Really makes you think about the lives of these B-list heroes. Plus, who can resist Monkey Joe, eh? And I love how, with Street Fighter, everything seems to come together at the end of a story arc, with a great big martial arts battle. Almost as if they planned it that way... wait a minute, they did. TEH CLEVAR!@!1!

Superman/Batman was kind of blah. The stuff going through Clark's and Bruce's heads is in some ways meant to be more interesting than the action, I get that; but sometimes that doesn't always work. Either that, or Loeb's style is wearing a little thin on me. And not a whole lot happened in this issue of JL Elite, but it was still pretty good -- better than JLA right now, anyway. One of the things I like about Kelly's work is that you'll often need to read it more than once to figure things out.

Oh, and screw that tease Shanna (you know you want to...), because the lovely Meriem gave you nip, bush, and kitty this week. And all for the same cover price, too. When it comes to half-naked, large-breasted, dino-killing jungle babes, I think we all know now which one works harder for the fans.

:D
