No longer boycotting the Wolfenstein franchise
Thanks for all the great threads :)

If we end up with one thread, I could possibly commit to handling the collections and/or graphic novels portion of the weekly update.

Nothing new of interest for me this week, but I made an order to catch up a bit on the last couple weeks:
* Batgirl: The Flood
* Batman & Robin: Batman & Robin Must Die!
* Deadman: Book 1
* Sky Doll: Vol. 1

I always admired the time and effort you put into these threads every week, Spike. I had been meaning to PM you asking if you needed any help with the weekly content, but with my comic-knowledge I didn't know if I'd be all that helpful.

My opinion is that we need to rethink these threads.

Most people look at the weekly threads to check if there's something interesting coming out that they don't know about. So why not have a OP with everyone's top picks for the week? Maybe even include covers.

I don't think we need the full Diamond release list, since that's already available on various sites.

I also don't think it's a bad idea to have a yearly thread, with links on the OP to all the "weekly posts" and big news. Would help with subscribing, if nothing else.

I'm willing to help, but firstly we should agree on how we want the Weekly posts.

I still think a monthly thread with an updated OP is the best idea. It'd be a good way to keep discussion of ongoing storylines going. I'd be willing to handle the Marvel stuff on the thread...or are we even claiming parts of it?

I think the best way would be to have a couple of people working on it, so no one is stuck with all the work.

I can take Image and/or banners.

Yes, that sounds like the best way. So how should we start doing it next week? Have one person make the thread and everyone else PM them their work? Should we use a template like Spike had and just have everyone post in the thread and link to each post?

Like I said, I can do Marvel and maybe something else if there aren't enough volunteers.

Are there rules for spoilers when discussing comics in this thread? How should we format our posts? Spoiler tags? Titling the post with the book name? No spoilers at all?

PMing someone and have that person post it. To prevent posts being all spread across the thread.

I really like the current layout of the OP, only thing I'd change would be adding covers for the "weekly jewels" to each publisher, which I don't mind doing.

I don't mind taking Dark Horse and IDW, if no one else does it. But it might be a bit of hit or miss as I don't pay that much attention to those two.

"Title" Spoiler:
insert your spoiler here
should be good enough.

I had a question about Thomas Wayne. Obviously that would spoil the major twist at the end of Flashpoint #1 though, so is there an appropriate amount of time before we can openly discuss stuff like that, if at all?

At any rate, is it just me or is Thomas Wayne made to look Polynesian or Native American in Flashpoint Batman? If that's the direction they went because he's a casino owner, it's pretty laughable. It doesn't seem consistent with the Batman in Flashpoint or even the image on the cover of FP:BKOV, And yes I'm basing this entirely on his chin scruff, lol. By day he's a clean-cut, sharply dressed casino owner, then once his 5 o'clock shadow starts forming, he's Batman.

It all comes down to the artist or how the writer wants the character to appear.
For that matter, the Batman Flashpoint book is being written by Brain Az and drawn by Eduardo Risso, both previously worked on 100 Bullets, and interesingly enough
Thomas Wayne looks like he's come straight out of that series

Used to be a regular contributor in the weekly comics threads, now I mostly lurk in them since I've stopped buying monthlies. The weekly threads have been great but I think a monthly thread would be better.

Thanks for all the hard work Spike!

I had the lowest of low expectations for Flashpoint: Batman. My fault, since I didn't know who the talent was going to be in the book.

Loved it. Wish it was an ongoing. :(
