The comment comes at 1h28m45s into the podcast if you're curious, in response to a question about whether Greg had been approached about the new Wonder Woman TV pilot in development at the CW. His comment about WW Earth One is framed around answering that question, and he gives a few details of some sequences he and JH had worked out; specifically, about young Diana leaving the island and her motivations, and the right things to focus on with Wonder Woman in general.

Thing is, Greg left DC over two years ago. TWO YEARS. And in that time, has Morrison produced his Wonder Woman book? NOPE. He's spent a great deal of time talking about it though, and about all the "research" he's had to do to understand the character. In fact, it only just got sort of informally announced, and probably won't hit shelves until mid/late 2013. That would be THREE YEARS after Rucka's departure from DC; three years in which Rucka and Williams could have told their story. Apparently, the guy running DC thinks that two Wonder Woman graphic novels, by two equally critically and fan acclaimed author/artist teams, released in a two or three year span, is one graphic novel too many to publish. Because there are soooooooooooo many great Wonder Woman graphic novels out there already.

Oh, wait.

NO THERE AREN'T. :|

You know one of the reasons why Wonder Woman doesn't have a "Dark Knight Returns," character defining work of her own? Because of sh*t like this.

Again, FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF*CK. >:(

Not regretting my decision to ditch DC at all at this point.

Once you break-up with Marvel too, and come to my side, you will finally experience glory. The land of milk, honey, and Tucker Stone columns.

Ffffuuuuck!

I've got 24-26 illustrations in various stages of completion now. Stupid day job getting in the way of hitting deadlines. Drafted a buddy and delegated flipping, lightboxing, and background duties to him.

The contract is crazy draconian, but I'm cool as it's for this project only and the material I'm working on is copyright / trademark Mother Nature.

Depending on lead times and subject matter I may or may not keep at this game. Thinking about it today, they say do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life.

Unless you're an American and like having health insurance and benefits. Once we get health care sorted out, I may just become a freelancer. I stand to make $20 an hour doing something I enjoy, and with the way the world is now I don't plan on ever being able to retire, so I'd much rather retire drawing than have a fucking aneurysm because assholes cannot read instruction manuals.

TOMORROW IS NEW COMIC BOOK DAY! WOOOWOOOWOOOOO!

Orchid, Rocketeer, Manhattan Projects - must remember to drop Saga.

I don't read it, but I see Tarot is coming up on issue #69. If the haunted vagina comic doesn't do something special for issue #69. . . massive missed opportunity bro! :3

Does Chris Sims still do those Tarot recaps? Those were great

Also, avoid the NY TIMES PEOPLE. COMIC SPOILERS, AGAIN!

We could have had a WW story by the team behind "Batwoman: Elegy"...with the the writer of team being responsible for quite possibly easily the best run on the character....and it was taken from us?

Argh. I'd take pretty much anything with that team.

I'll have to listen to that whole interview tomorrow at work. Greg Rucka's great, I was sad to see him leave DC, but glad to see he's getting some more indie stuff out there.

Michael Allred drawing Doop again just feels so...right

I love Doop (& Allred's art), but a bee weapon against robots seems a bit hopeless.

Move up to Canada. You would still probably want personal health insurance to help pay for medication, physio, and dental work but that's like $100-150 a month if you are single, and everything else is covered. No going bankrupt if you get into a car accident :P

Imagine if Doop was the casualty?
There's this all out war, phoenix-cyclop shoots a super beam, everyone finds some cover, except one.
In the middle of the battlefield, lies dead our little green friend.

AvX #11....

...goddamnit, Cyclops
This is almost Iron Man in Civil War level "turning a character into a douche". All we need is for Cyke to create a Nightcrawler clone that kills a guy.

Fun fact: DC binned a completed Wonder Woman OGN last year because the artist was arrested for possessing child pornography. At least that one can't be blamed on DiDio being an asshole.
I felt bad for the writers on this one. All that work, and your story doesn't even get released.
No doubt, seems Mo wants to focus on WW's sexuality, which will probably become the new Greek gods.

This is the part that scares me.

Let's see the drawings!

Technically can't display them with the terms of the contract. :X

Once the book is printed I can share.

Say what? I need to look into this.

I've considered it. After visiting I'd want to live in or very close to Toronto. Just being able to walk to art supply stores is so much better than where I live, where-in art supply stores are all at least 10 miles in all directions. So if Store A doesn't have what you're looking for, now you have to drive 20 miles in the other direction; or just order it online - but that doesn't help when you need it now. >:|

I used to love cyclops way back when everyone disliked him because he was boring. I really hate how in order to get people to care about him they had to turn him into a giant douchebag.

I really hope they pull off some "Heroes Journey" with him and setup some redemption arc for him. Don't let him snuff out like Bishop or do this crap "lets replace 616 characters with characters from other dimensions" crap.

I've always hated Cyclops and the events of this entire event, AvX 11 included, have not swayed my opinion in either direction. I still hate him. That said I've generally liked AvX except for the fact that it was half dozen issues too many. Maybe I'm just easily amused, or being new to comics I don't have the event fatigue most seem to.

AvX hasn't been so bad. The only real swore spot on it is how utterly pointless Versus has turned out (though I guess one should have seen that coming).

Just read AvX 11. So dumb. The X-Men have literally been painted as the bad guys even though at first all they did was help people and Captain/Avengers just got pissed because they accomplished more than they ever did.

Definitely agree with people saying that Cyclops is being Tony Starked during Civil War.

Well duh, especially since they were so transparent about the prime directive of the book being that it was just going to be big dumb, pointless fights, I'd say if you didn't see that coming you need to have your eyes checked. Were you expecting Shakespearian drama?

I was expecting....I don't know...maybe more dynamic fights that actually added a bit more to the overall conflict. The characters maybe talking to each other beyond just "You suck!" "No! You suck!"

The Daredevil/Psylocke fight was a good example I remember since there was actually some talk about what was going on. In fact, even though I didn't like how it played out, last issue's BP/Storm fight was more in line with what I was hoping for.

New T bOlts book lead by Red Hulg (get it) Deadpool, Nevom, Elektra and Punisher. witten by Way.

way with deadpool and frank? yeah get the fuck out with that. at least the cover is good.

heh. bamfing through people. then he'll be a member of the dark avengers down the line.

At least the Phoenix actually is a corrupting entity.

Uncanny X-Force #31:
Uncle Cluster! Holy shit wow, LMAO

This final arc gon be soooooooooo guuuuuuuuud

Haha, my bad, you guys know what I meant... So used to talking about MY DREAMS BEING SHATTERED in a few weeks by Remender jumping ship.

Has Marvel said anything about Uncanny X-Men coming back yet? So stupid. This could be the first time in it's publishing history than Uncanny is not coming out. 1964-2012. RIP.

It's not coming back. Bendis fan-fic is the flagship title now.

Yeah

also, I love the TBolts line-up, but that creative team is a decisive "NO!" for me

Wow, I'm glad they bothered with all the Schism shit and restarting Uncanny just to burn it to the ground in a year to make way for His Royal Fucking Highness 'Do Whatever the Fuck I Want' Bendis.

Now I'm starting to realize why all the DC-nauts were butthurt last year when Tec and Action got wiped, but at least that was in service of brand wide unity. Marvel seemingly just doesn't even give a shit about anything anymore.

Edit: So I know the answer is just going to be "Because Marvel" but why didn't they just let Bendis take over Uncanny and at least keep the name? I'm surprised how much it bothers me that there isn't going to be a comic called "Uncanny X-Men" coming out anymore.

Funnily enough, Bendis goes to my local comic book store on a regular basis to buy his comics. No real reason for this comment, just all the talk made me remember that fact.
