Comixology has a 'Danger Girl' sale on-going for today only. Worth looking into? I am vaguely familiar with the title but I haven't read anything of it.

Do you like BOOBS and GUNS?? But do you hate the sight of NIPPLES?? If so, BUY!!

Ignore Jedeye, he's completely irrational. As evidenced in this scenario:

"Hey guys, Best Buy has James Bond movies on sale should I buy them?"

Danger Girl is an Indiana Jones / James Bond comic with a team of female leads that takes place before J.Scott Campbell's pre-Mort Drucker caricature phase of photo-referencing every damned thing he drew.

It's good clean fun and not at all anything like the books (Aspen, Xenoscope comics), Jedeye is attempting to compare it to. :|

Not sure if serious...? I'm actually more of a man kinda man. How's the writing?

It's a T&A take on Spy movies/novels. I don't remember the writing much, but the entire Cliffhanger line was artist-centric and it was the 90s. I don't remember it being bad if that means anything. Art was pretty too.

Guys, you helped me out with Spider-Man before and now I seek assistance once more.

I've bought the Big Time Ultimate Collection, Return of Anti-Venom and Spider-Island trades. Are there any other oversized trades available that are in continuity and worth reading? Is there any more of Dan Slott's run available in trade?

No, calling a book an action adventure James Bond Indie Jones thing is just what boobiebook fans do to cover up the fact they're buying boobiebooks. I'm on to you.

Those comments are absolutely amazing.

Yeah, I noticed that. I'm genuinely impressed at how people who make reading their main hobby have such bad reading comprehension skills. Also, damn at the hate at ms. thing; the character doesn't even exist yet.

Also, if this ant-man is Scott Lang, then I have nothing to complain about this team. Love she-hulk, love Medusa, there's probably something interesting behind ms. Thing, so... all love here.

No.

That's why I buy Cavewoman! ;)

As a boobie comic, Danger Girl is a massive failure. It's straight up action yarn with cameos by Sean Connery and Bruce Campbell.

I don't know. Campbell is known for his cheesecake, but he puts strawberries on it and I'm not interested in strawberries on my cheesecake.

Just the cheesecake ma'am!

It wasn't coming out when I was going through puberty, so any fap potential may be lost on me. :\

MISSION COMPLEEEETE!

If you live on the arse end of nowhere maybe (read: Australia :P). I'm in the uk and stuff gets to me in a day or two, it works perfectly.

Oh! Well see my brother got us an aramex account and I plan on using it soon to get me some TPBs, hope by using it I can get the books within a week or 2 XO

Usually it takes two weeks if you factor in amazon shipping it to your Aramex account. But sometimes, when the planets and the sun in our solar system align, the gods bless us and provide the perfect conditions to allow Aramex to deliver it to us in a week.

Of course, it can get expensive sometimes

X-Force has been one of my favorite books since before Marvel even knew my name. I've been loving the sh** out of Rick's run, and Rick and I have known each other for years. He was very open, very generous with his notes and his thoughts about where to go, and his experiences writing the book. But the thing about Rick's run, and I can say this because I know what happens, is that Rick nails the end of his run. Kills it. His whole run on Uncanny X-Force is a complete story, it has a beginning, a middle and an end. I love his run enough to respect that and acknowledge it, but I also love it enough to leave it alone.

Nobody wants to see me try and continue X-Force as a watered-down version of Rick Remender. Rick asked questions in the book and addressed them. There's nothing left for me to continue, but it would not be an enjoyable experience for anyone involved, for the readers, for Rick, for me or for Marvel. No one would come out pleased. This spins directly out of the events of Rick's run, but it takes the concept of X-Force, the mandate of the book and the characters down a new path with a new focus.

THAT'S THAT!

Why are there two X-Forces now? That doesnt even make any sense. At all. What are you doing to the X-books Marvel?! You're tearing them apppaaaartttttttt~!

Also as expected, the X-overlay logos kept getting lazier and lazier.

Storm ripping out Marrow's heart is like my top 5 moments ever. I hated Marrow, with a passion. Thank god Chris Claremont disappeared her in that ridiculous "six month gap."

Borrowed all the AvX issues from a friend and read them in one session.

I kind of love it. It's absolutely ridiculous and over the top, the Bad Boys 2 of comics.

Borrowed the DC All-Star: Superman issues as well. Only read the first but damn I love Quitely's art!

I've warmed up to Superman recently. I used to hate on him for no reason really, never really understood what his conflict is. Started reading more stories and realized that Luthor is a fucking devious villain and a lot of the stories really benefit from him humanizing Superman.

Also, stoned Superman is best Superman.

Well it's nice to get more Psylocke in Marvel's books.. even if it has Puck or dear God.. Spiral.

EDIT: I would've taken Jubilee over Spiral if that was the case, kswiston.

Characters like Puck and Spiral are great in team books because the writers have free reign to do whatever they want with them. There are no editorially driven mandates to worry about, or competing views of the characters in other books. As long as the writing is good, those types of characters always shine.

What's Spiral's deal anyway? Thought she was a cool character in Capcom's fighters. Then again I also thought that of Onsluaght but when I found out he was considered one of Marvel's worst abominations I didn't want to read anything with him as to not ruin my opinion of the character.

Dude, you just sold this event to me more expertly than any marketing team ever could. Now I'm going to check out AvX.

Onslaught was a crossover plot device whose ultimate purpose was to allow Jim Lee and Rob Liefeld to reboot the Fantastic Four and Avengers titles (plus Cap and Iron Man's solo titles) in a continuity free universe. Sort of like the Ultimate books except the heroes involved were removed from the regular Marvel universe and the writing was much worse. Onslaught was basically Marvel's parallax, but instead of a yellow fear monster, it was Magneto who corrupted Prof X and turned him into a super villain.

Spiral is a proper character. I think she was a regular human who was transformed by the Alien Mojo in his Mojoverse. Now she is an X-Villain who specializes in Magic and technology. She can also teleport.

Last try at this thread. Used to be a great place to hang out.

Can you make one that says like "Don't call someone out for being a shitty artist if they actually post in this thread without at least bringing some detail to the conversation otherwise you're just a bully."

Or is that too much copy?

There's a great scene in Johns and Manapul's Superboy: The Boy of Steel where Lex cures his sister, who is an invalid essentially, using a created serum just to prove that he can and then proceeds to shoot her up with the reverse serum, turning her back into an invalid, stating "Lex giveth and Lex taketh away." He is a great villian and an even better foil to Superman.

Holy shit I remember that. Such a great story.

Reacting to news of a reboot across the board is hardly unexpected for a discussion thread. It ebbs and flows between hype of comics people enjoy and directions, and terrible new announcements people aren't pleased with. Especially for something like X-Force.

Unfortunately there isnt a baby crèche internet for those that can't handle that ying and yang, so oh well eh?
