I bet Uncanny Avengers is the kind of comic people will be raving about in a few years when looking back on it. Some of the hate it's been getting on here and a few other forums is just crazy. It'll be interesting to see the reactions to the next arc with Apocalypse when Cassady is off it.

It's easily one of my favourite NOW! books along with Thor and New Avengers.

The Avengers have consistently been poaching good creators, villains, heroes and themes from the X-Men for years. At this point, the X-Men might as well be called Marvel's development league.

I'm being dramatic. Don't take this seriously

I've always preferred the X-books to the Avengers regardless. Though I'm definitely looking forward to seeing them start up with the cosmic stuff again.

Zatanna still looks like she got lost on her way to the club.

Did anyone else want DC to pull an Age of Apocalypse with flashpoint.

I felt that universe ha smug to offer than the 5 issue mini and tie ins.

Or even make it DC ultimate universe

Ah man DC turned down a proposal to reimagine their charecters as Japenese Sci-fi heroes. This project looked awesome:

I was digging through the storage room here at the underwater headquarters and ran across these character sheets I did almost 10 years ago. So I slapped on a new coat of digital paint and put ‘em up for your amusement. Similar to Grant Morrison’s ideas for Super Young Team, I imagined that the DC universe had a band of Japanese superheroes inspired by their original Western counterparts. It’s basically a mix of DC, old school anime and kaiju. This got a tiny bit of interest around the offices (this was a year prior to the Marvel Mangaverse) but it never went anywhere because they already had Chris Moeller’s giant robot Justice League book in the works. Here, Batman is a wealthy but orphaned college student, the Joker is an insane visual kei rock star, and Superman is a giant robot controlled by the radio wristwatch of a young boy (the roles of Clark Kent and Lois Lane are filled in by the robot’s nerdy creator and the boy’s widowed mom). They’re really shameless pastiches, but kinda funny too. I’d like to draw some more finished versions of these at some point, just as a goof.

Aquaman is Ultraman, Green Lantern is Riderman Cobra, Flash is Speed Racer? Why is this not a book I can buy yet?

I wonder whose Wonder Woman supposed to be?

The art and delays are hurting the book.

The narration from issue #3 was a little too much but he was trying to show Red Skull is a Golden Age villain in the 21st century.

Also, won't touch Uncanny X-Force after what I read about how he wrote Fantomex and Psylocke. Psylocke is supposed to be proper and would not cuss.

Expect the mischaracterizations and plot to get awful under Humphries.

Wonder Woman is a Leiji Matsumoto-esque character.

I really dig the Tetsujin 28/Giant Robo Superman.

e: GL is Cobra

vvv yep vvvv

Uh, Psylocke is anything but proper. This is the girl who fell in love with a 14 year old, licked motor oil off a married Cyclops' face, while trying to seduce him and spent nearly 20 years shoving her woohoo in villains faces.

Uhh, that is promiscuous. You can be promiscuous and be proper. The object of her cussing is total mischaracterization.

Humphries Ultimates started off with small mischaracterizations like that and went downhill quick. Fully expect the same thing.

Winter Soldier definitely peaked at issue #9.

didn't like 10 or 11 much at all, random hawkeye is jarring after liking hawkguy.

I get what you mean (the finale is super dope though) but this is Brubaker's last Marvel comic, at least for the foreseeable future - I gave him a bit of slack 'cuz this is kinda a goodbye for him.

Stopped by BERGEN COMICS today and picked up Copra 1-4.

Looks awesome. Dude said if I was into Prophet I would like that. SOLD

Also he showed me some Brandon Graham porn comics in the back. Also SOLD.
