Okay, I'm not missing a Chew sale on Comixology for a third time even after a super-expensive 23 title week! Question though, is Revival worth catching up with during the sale? The first issue was pretty damn good, but I always hear lots of talk that the series has gone nowhere.

I still really like Revival. It has definitely meandered a bit but the cast of characters is still interesting to me.

Green Lantern: New Guardians #31 was really interesting.
Kyle lands on a Dead World, with a dead civilization, tries to heal the world only to discover it's basically an evil version of Mogo that killed the life on it and wants to replace all life with itself.

UK comic-gaffers, where do you tend to buy trades from? TYx

The usual places really. Amazon, ebay, speedyhen. etc. The amazon marketplace has some decent prices as well. I've been tempted by one or two of the omniboos at the price they're going for, even if some of the sellers are US based.

These two pages of Batman Beyond Universe (the Justice Lords Beyond arc) have 17 different instances of Wonder Woman with plenty of Wonder Woman on Wonder Woman violence.

That spread is all kinds of awesome. The cover of that book in general is eye catching.

Emanuela Lupacchino is a Goddess with the pen. She really needs to stop doing just cover work and get put on a steady title. She did a few issues of Worlds' Finest which were absolutely lovely.

Jeremy Roberts is drawing that. He drew a page in Harley #0. Posted it a few pages back. He was the winner of the DC artist contest.

I stand corrected! The cover to New Suicide Squad #1 is lovely. Especially love the Harley and Deathstroke.

Some of our best and brightest can't be assed with deadlines and script interpretation. Don't feel bad for them too much. A lot of them move on to creative teams on DC Shows and animated film production companies.

Magneto's book is so damn violent sometimes. Damn.

I was seriously convinced that Magneto was going to suck. Couldn't pass up the Samnee cover for issue #2 and I bought the other and have been hooked ever since.

Seriously. This book kicks ass. Read it if you even have a passing interest in it. You won't be disappointed.

seriously.

Finally read the latest Black Widow, this was the end of first arc right? Phil Noto is perfect for this series and
the random Hawkeye cameo made me burst out laughing.

Also that was a metaphor for what the delays are doing to that book

did America's Got Powers ever get wrapped up?

edit: it did! huh, i dunno then. maybe he's taking a break after finishing two series in a span of a few years

So I went to my LCS to look for some variants and maybe back issues. I had a good experience, I picked up Batman (new 52) #5 -$13.50, #10 -$4.60, #11 -$5, #12 -$5, #17 -$3.60 = ($31.70). I got them for $18!! Small victory but it felt big haha. First successful negotiation.

Also picked up Detective Comics #31 Mike Allred Varint Cover.

Batman / Hellboy / Starman #1 By James Robinson, Mike Mignola.

Also got American Vampire 2nd second #3 and Star Wars Darth Maul #1.

That cameo was easily my favorite part of that book.

This is it, guys and gals. The return to Jim Starlin's Thanos. Can Jim top the insanity that happened in Marvel: The End? (Which I need help to understand like the Heart of the Infinite and stuff so feel free to explain it to me
please
)

Are you ready for another cosmic clusterfuck of excitement and wonder?
(I don't think it will happen here)

Presenting Thanos Annual #1!

Houston's ComicPalooza is going on this weekend. Capullo just tweeted that he will be there.

I've gone the last few years but I never go up to any signings or anything like that. Always struck me as awkward. Don't even know the process lol. I mean...what would I say? Some of you vets help me out.

Honestly, just be honest and cool about it. My words to Greg Rucka, literally : "Thank you for writing such kick ass and empowering women"

Followed by me getting a picture with him :D

was Wolverine: Enemy of the State well-received? I'm almost done with the first trade but it's not terribly interesting, too many Wolverine narration boxes fall flat.

And then, whatever you do, make sure to read Thanos Imperative after you're done with Annihilation and Guardians (2008).

Because Thanos Imperative is awesome.

Caught up in Doomed. This is some fun stuff, man.

But damn, dudes, either get a single artist for a single book or at least try and write to it. I appreciate a Cameron Stewart page as much as anyone but like, random much?

At least Tony Daniel drew his whole book (I think?) and seems to have loosened up his style quite nicely since the RIP days. But Superman/Batman was like ODB. No father to its styles.

I usually say "I really enjoy/love your work on ____________". Not much more to say other than that before you ask for their signature/sketch/picture/whathaveyou.

Sex Criminals, Volume 1: One Weird Trick

14249247974_a2a9f600ce_o.jpg

Collecting issues #1-5 of Sex Criminals, One Weird Trick is a very fun read. I had only picked up the first issue and decided I could trade wait because Image is quick and dirty like that. And man, this is good stuff. As I finish one chapter, it keeps pulling me back in for more. While I was reading it, I prompted my significant other to give this a shot. She asked what it's about and I tell her it's about a girl who stops time...by having an orgasm. There was this awkward silence between us because she didn't know how to react. I continued to read and she continued to pretend she wasn't interested. But I know damn well she's going to read it when I'm not around. And you should too. :]

Of course, I can't post many images from the book because most panels are NSFW. So here's what I can show you.

Oh, and there's this scene where Suzie, protagonist of the series, flashes back to her high school days where another girl teaches her everything she knows about sex. Well, mostly sex positions. But she scribbles them on the bathroom walls to give a visual to Suzie. It looks like Matt Fraction and Chip Zdarsky list out a number of positions that didn't make it during that scene...

I can only imagine what the illustrations would look like. XD

I literally just finished reading that comic! I kinda love it, might hop on the singles.

As for the sex moves, i'm highly partial to Cockguy

I think I'm getting to like the New-52 Supergirl. I wasn't keen on her for a while since she was such a miserable brat but they've smoothed out a lot of her rougher edges and filled in a lot of her back story so that helps.

Can't wait for the next issue of Bee and Puppycat. Love the cartoon too.

as generic as it sounds, see if your local town or city has one. support local business brah, even if it is slightly more expensive.

alternatively, http://stores.ebay.co.uk/A-PLACE-IN-SPACE seems ok.

Thanks for the replies! I tend to amazon was just wondering if there were any other options :)

Having only started on the IDW TMNT ongoing earlier this year I'm almost caught up to the current issue *excites*, it's such a great run. Haven't read any of the Turtles Micro-series so might pick up the trades of those?!

Quick rundown of the few books i've read so far:
Forever Evil #7
Feels rushed, but man was
Luthor geting angry over the death of Bizarro silly, I can't recall any time during the story he actually cared for him
AntiMonitor's design at the end was pretty bad IMO.

Batman & Frankenstein #31
I don't like how Frankenstein was like 'the muscle' in this book and how 'Batman is always right'.

Invincible 111
This series needs to pick up the pace already but
damnit Robot. Really hope the baby's OK

Justice League 30
I've been having my own idea of a world where
Luthor knows Bruce's secret identity, hope the writer's can make some good stories off of this

I think it not so much that Luthor cared for Bizarro as a person, but arrogance that someone destroyed something he used his genius to create.

Taken another way, someone using brawn to destroy a creation of Luthor's brain.
A direct attack on Luthor the self made man, getting by on his wit and intelligence in a world of super powered meatheads.

But then again maybe he did just have a soft spot in his heart.

I'm literally 6 pages into Flex Mentallo and I already know I'm in for a wild Morrison ride.

The best kind of ride IMO.

You should do, they are all great stuff.
Especially the villain micros.

When I first read Flex, I thought the interview with Wally Sage in the preamble to the issues was real, and that he was the actual creator of Flex Mentallo.

I don't really care for Sam, but he works really well for New Warriors. Aracely is amazing with him (she's great with everyone, but still):

Kaine's such an ass to him too, it's hilarious.

I might give New Warriors a read, has it been consistently good lately?
