I read that it was good, DC had announced like five ongoings and after DCYou flop they just threw them all together into the legends of tomorrow anthology,

I liked his Firestorm story in that anthology.
He has backed up his reasoning many times before.

I know very little of Firestorm. Is he legitimately popular? My exposure is from CW Flash and I can't stand the character. Might be legitimately good in the Legends show I don't watch.
Swamp Thing is high up my list.
It's silly to debate since you aren't introducing anything here. Nahhhhh isn't a counterargument. You're also reducing the concept of "hot takes" to mean "opinions I disagree with."

Lloyd McGinn looks like an Alan Moore analogue, but I wasn't really convinced it was more than Gerads and King being cute until someone mentioned he was killed on the 84th floor, which references the year Saga of the Swamp Thing #21 came out.
And I'm not sure what the story becomes once read through that lens.
The fact that he was killed because it looked like he knew all the secrets of life, and that maps to his deconstructive superhero work, starting with Swamp Thing and culminating with Watchmen, but then what does killing him represent?
The ending,
about Swamp Thing bailing out after killing Headhunter while Batman begs him to tell him that his parents live on, has, I think, fairly obvious overtones, but the whole A to B to C part I'm still super unsure of, and it kinda ignores the shaky history of Watchmen's ownership

I understood some of these words!
That ending was an emotional gut punch with Batman begging for reassurance. I also feel it would have been even more devastated had we not already seen the "encounter" with Thomas during the Button. I realize it was a different writer, but that encounter was my favorite Batman moment in Rebirth. Thomas pleading with Bruce to let it go and not be Batman...sublime. We've seen similar scenes before, but that got me.
Firestorm is a top tier D.C. Character and has his own solo books that have been pretty long running, and he was a main member of the league during the Sattlite era.
He's currently on Legends, Injustice 2, and has been in a ton of cartoons.
Don't let my avatar fool you into thinking I'm bias, but Firrstorm is a top five character.

I believe you. I'm not up to speed on him and didn't care for the CW version.
In fairness, I'm not knowledgeable about modern Swamp Thing either. I'm just in the middle of the Alan Moore run and got fired up when I saw him in Batman.
Pretty much my thoughts.
Amilcar Pinna is on the art for Generation X at least till #3..sigh. His art isn't bad, but very underwhelming. Especially when the cover art is better.

Did you see the Superman annual with Swamp Thing? Loved it. Easily my fav issue of this Superman run.

I really wonder what they are going to do in that one given what's going on in Jean's ongoing. Given that Bunn is writing it will probably bring something over to X-Men Blue(assuming the book is still called that when Legacy hits).
