I'm going to wait for the first issues before I start commenting on the quality of the books. It's disheartening tbh.

Digital is the answerHmm... Got in the 3rd Claremont Uncanny X-men omnibus today, having picked it up in a condition of "New" for about the price it would be on IST, were it not out of stock and likely not coming back, from an Amazon seller. They shipped it in one of those crap things where it's like, cardboard vacuum packed around the book and no protection, and as a result there's those sorts of slightly dented in cover corners, one of which carries into the book a little. It's not AWFUL and it'd be fine for a "used" book, but I'm irked enough to bring it up with Amazon customer support and see if they can/will do anything for me.
Also, huh, I kind of thought this was comprehensive, but it's not even CLOSE to collecting all of Claremont Uncanny, much less his X-men in general. Like, he was on Uncanny for another 100 issues or so after where this last omnibus leaves off! Seems weird that they've done reprints for these but never figured a 4th was worth a try. Does the run, like, drop off after this or something? Either way, I guess I'll make note of this mentally and maybe pick up the rest the next time it's convenient on Comixology.

You guys know if that DC Direct magazine that BC has been leaking will be coming to comixology, or is just a physical thing.
I hear they have the letters pages though, that's pretty dope

Gotta keep an open mind about the new X-books guys, they may surprise you.
All of The Life & Times of Scrooge McDuck issues have been reprinted and collected in Fantagraphics' Don Rosa Library releases
I should make a thread for this later, that'd make a great X-mas gift for some people
No we don't and no they won't.
Oh right, I hit the Avengers Annual #10 in the X-men Omnibus, and I was confused at it's placement there at first, but after reading it, I'm really glad it's included, and damn was that great. Like, first off, it's the introduction of Rogue, which is cool and a lot sooner than I thought it was (I've hit the point where I've never read this far before, so that's exciting!) Though it's kind of weird that the way she's drawn kind of makes her look middle-aged/old, which is odd. Still, solid battle that shows off the new Brotherhood SO much better than Days of Future Past did. And then Claremont ends it by dropping the classic calling out of all the problems of the infamous "Rape of Ms. Marvel", which is super well done and probably my favorite example of someone using the medium of comics to tear apart someone else's (shoddy, messed up) work.
Oh, and the issues before it were the Doom/Arcade team up. So if nothing else, I've now read the story with the matchstick strike against Doom's armor which was double retconned (which is some great petty retconning, btw).
I'm so buying that Holiday Harley RBW Statue when it gets to around $56 at Amazon. But where to put it...
This is true. I had the first omnibus.I hear they have the letters pages though, that's pretty dope

I have a couple of the Fantagraphics hardcovers. They're beautiful. See, I was under the impression that Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck was an actual story (based on nothing but an assumption). I am now thinking it's actually just a series and all of the issues in these hardcovers are from that series. Is that accurate?
I don't know what you expect lol.Gotta keep an open mind about the new X-books guys, they may surprise you.
Silver Age Doom Patrol, frick yes. Probably gonna double dip on Steph Batgirl, tooI am gonna link you all leaks so far:

Y'know I actually forgot about how un-hype i am for the book in the scant few seconds between seeing the McKelvie designs and your postthose costumes are wasted on what's going to be a pretty shit book
How about a Squirrel Girl bishoujo? She's cheaper than most of the recent bishoujos have been. Actually she's not, but that AmiAmi discount cut deep.
Bishoujo statues remind me of anime and ruin my day.
Pretty much. Cool designs wasted on a team that shouldn't even be therevery little interest in reading any Iceman solo but the team is kinda decent

Say what colossus leaves :/Yeah its kinda bizarre they haven't collected more of that? The third omnibus ends with the Paul Smith era, but Romita is kinda stuck in the middle there. The Romita era is notable because it stops having a lot of big multi-part stories like the Dark Phoenix Saga or the X-Men World Tour or the Proteus Saga, and it turns more into like chapters in a big novel. Like there's always like a core story to every issue, but its a lot of one/two part stories with only the occasional multi-part one.
Its a shame, cuz the Romita era has several of my favorite issues. #179 is classic, #180 with the Kitty/Storm confrontation, #183 is a huge classic with Colossus and Juggs in the bar, Storm losing her powers with Lifedeath, there's the dope Kulan Gath two-parter where the X-Men get stuck in an alternate dimension, #196 is one of the best issues Claremont ever wrote, #200 is real important as in #201...shame that run falls in the cracks cuz its good stuff. I actually find it more interesting than the Byrne years, seeing how Claremont's voice for the characters has evolved and how he chooses to structure stories.
Here's a good resource for how X-Men has been collected so far. Really unfortunate #215-219 isn't collected at all, lol. This is the period where Claremont forms up the new X-Men in the wake of Mutant Massarce taking 3 fan favorites off the board(Colossus, Kitty, Nightcrawler) in the form of Dazzler, Longshot, Havok, and Psylocke. This is also the start of Marc Silvestri's run, with #218 being one of my favorite issues in the series with the new X-Men fighting the Juggernaut. Lot of great sequences in that issue...
