I haven't read any of Justice League United though :(

You can always course correct, Cheska! Don't push Miiyahbin out of your life. Don't deny the Animal Man / Green Arrow bromance.

Yo I don't see anything about Booster Gold or the tiger people from Kamandi in those solicits.

I finally got around to reading the second Library edition of Fear Agent today. While it was a good read, I don't think I enjoyed it as much as the first half of the run. The story really started to drag for me during the issues on
Heaven
, it felt like Remender was just spinning his wheels trying to figure out how to set up the conclusion of the series. Thankfully he stuck the landing on the ending, it was pretty much perfect. All in all it was a great run that really only dipped in quality once.

Sweet! I agree with that assessment.

Catching up with Transformers: More than Meets the Eye, and the Dark Cybertron crossover is really kind of a slog for me. I feel like it's killing any momentum MTMTE had.

It probably doesn't help the way the crossover is written in that each issue covers at least 3 different parts of the story. I feel like it'd be much better for each series to concentrate on the cast of characters that the series uses. Rather than having such a disparate set of characters and scenes each issue.

He can write Miles-Man in his sleep so it's really only one new character and she is already in Bendis Miles-Man.

I think that Marvel should pull a Benjamin Franklin on Bendis. Prop him up in a corner and give him Spiderman to make himself feel important and make him an honorary member of the committee. Pull him off everything important and pat him on the head.

I really enjoy his X-Men books also. I'd go as far as to say I like most of what he writes currently. I like Dat teen drama.

Well you voted for Batman Beyond three different times by voting for each of the digital chapters. What did you expect?

Obviously not enough people have accepted Batman Beyond into their life. Otherwise that wouldn't have been an issue.

I haven't read any of Justice League United though :(

You should it's good and Stargirl and Supergirl could be an awesome duo.

What did you vote for?

Sex Criminals
Batman Eternal
Superman

In a different order though. I figured none of them would make it though being Multiversity month.

I just wanted to inform you that yesterday in my IST order I threw in some earlier Legion comics. Have been a fan of DnA legion and waid legion. Time to try early Levitz legion.

Ordered Great darkness saga and the follow on trade the curse

Keep fighting the good fight

Let me say this, he's the best since Claremont but I definitely see his vision falling apart. All New X-Men should have been a title that has a beginning, middle, and end. They might as well go into the past once again for shits and giggles and pull Xavier out of the past.

Have you read DnA's Legion Lost? I think it's the best Legion story after Great Darkness Saga.

Yup! It's the first legion story I read. It's great and one of the best ways IMO to get into Legion. I was so happy they finally collected it last year or so. It's a shame DC is so poor with trades from this era. PADs Supergirl, Aquaman, and Young Justice, and DnAs Legion run should all exist in trade collections. Then there's the gaps in Dixons robin and Birds of Prey. People don't know what they're missing and Dc is letting these great runs fade away.

Ugh. C'mon, guys. I work a full shift to get that time and a half pay and I come back to four (or two if you're on 100ppp) pages already? You know I'll feel like I have to read absolutely every post.

Also, just read that two issue arc of Doom Patrol with the Sex Men. Doom Patrol continues to be absolutely amazing. And the subplots revolving around the Doom Patrol members are really starting to heat up nicely.

This wouldn't happen of you never left. Think about that.

Trying again: Anyone want to help me out with a list of what's worth picking up in regards to Batman Beyond? Not just a good starting point, but everything worthwhile.

I can't deny that logic.

Doom Patrol talk reminds me that they actually got Simon Bisley to do some interior pages for the next Thor God of Thunder.

As much as I absolutely love his covers, I'm not a huge fan of those interior pages. His main appeal to me is his slightly abstract style, but in interiors, you definitely have to draw so that it's clear what's happening and who the characters are, so that kind of doesn't let him do his thing.
At least I think that's why I don't like that as much as his covers.

Trying again: Anyone want to help me out with a list of what's worth picking up in regards to Batman Beyond? Not just a good starting point, but everything worthwhile.

Here you go:

  1. Batman Beyond Hush (2010) --- Physical Trade
  2. Batman Beyond Industrial Revolution (2011) --- Physical Trade
  3. Batman Beyond Unlimited 10,000 Clowns (2012) --- Physical Trade --- Physical Trade
  4. Batman Beyond Universe 2.0 (2013)

I'd also suggest:

  1. Justice League Beyond --- Physical Trade --- Physical Trade
  2. Justice League Beyond 2.0

I've been wondering too. But I'm concerned it'll diminish my love of the show if they made too many changes. Although I guess it's a different universe.

So that's the list but what's the good stuff worth while?

It's very faithful and all worth reading.

Woah, I'm all over this. That last page you posted is dominant.

Things to read this month:

  • X-Statix Omnibus
  • Are You My Mother?
  • Nexus Omnibus, Volume 1

I'll be happy if I get through those three, comics-wise.

You know Bendis's best work is probably not very well known these days. Everyone should look into Torso. It's a book telling the Elliot Ness and the first documented serial killer in America (in Bendis's home town of Cleveland). The books is simply amazing and different than anything he normally does. solo/street Bendis is his best but with co writer Andreyko he takes it to another level with this book. Plus Bendis is the artist and it's good stuff! It reminds me a lot of Alan Moores From Hell

Digital Trade and physical trade

Man, Doom Patrol is just the best comic.
Every single issue is so fully engaging and fascinating.
I never get used to the fact that Morrison creates these crazy interesting characters and worlds every single issue. And all of them are so unique and great.

Edit: On a completely different note, following a thread like this where there's a new OT every month makes me realize how fast time passes and it scares me.

charlequin and icarus both said it was Best Comic when I was asking for suggestions! I need to get the omnibus edition, though I'm hoping the binding is better than Planetary's was.

I'd highly, highly suggest buying the omnibus.
Regarding the binding, speaking as someone who's spoiled by great bindings (my only previous omnibuses were X-Statix, Colossal Conan, and Big Damn Sin City which all have absolutely perfect sewn bindings) the binding on Doom Patrol isn't ideal, but it definitely hasn't given me any issues at all. At no point in reading it has the binding caused any gutter loss or anything. It won't lay perfectly flat, but it also won't cause you any problems.

Started reading Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind. The first few pages have been great. (And the box set is amazing).

You should get it! Binding was a bit of a pain for the first couple of chapters but it improved greatly thereafter.

Just read Avengers World # 11 holy hell how is no one talking about
the fact that the Avengers kids are in the current timestream, I heard that Hickman is sort of oversees the outlining of the series is that true?

Loving this "So why do people hate Gambit so much thread". Join me in the laughter, folks.

But really, Gambit just sort of vanished as far as I remember. But until recently I was way behind on Marvel, as I've mentioned.

Guys, do you recommend any tablet for reading digital comics? I'm kind of tired of reading them in my laptop.

I use an iPad mini with retina. Comics look gorgeous, but unless you like guided view, you'll have to read them in widescreen mode.

If you can, get the iPad Air. The only thing currently holding me back is the fact that Apple may announce a new version this fall, so I'm holding onto my mini until then.

Haha. That line in Doom Patrol 49.
When those three guys go to Doctor Silence's house where he has the painting and he says: "NOBODY invited you here!"
Pretty excited about the return of Mr. Nobody. Even more excited about the new group of weirdos Mr. Nobody is teaming up with.
Grant Morrison creates the absolute greatest villains in Doom Patrol.
