no, i'm serious. c&c is about campy, tank rushing, big unit spamming fun. it's not a strategic wank fest. that's all i want. don't make it what it isn't.

No way itd live up if youre using a controller :o PC FTW.
Those are lies, but no one has bothered to really do RTS controls correctly for a gamepad. You absolutely need some way to slow down the cursor.

Joe Kucan is such a sexy beast.

whaaa? I saw the demo sitting on my desk at Target 2 or 3 days ago (for the PC) I dont keep up with the C&C series too much but Im pretty sure it was like 99 cents or some shit.

Looking forward to seeing how badly this demo chokes my computer. :(

C&C will be fun for its usual fast, crack-like multiplayer. SupCom, though, is the new RTS Jesus.

I wish I could run it.

Will have to wait for a computer upgrade before buying it. Demo chugged for me. But then I'm still running on a mobile 2500 O/C to 2.2ghz and need more power. Dual core. And maybe a second monitor hahaha. Or I could turn down the resolution to 640 X 480 lolz since it is GAF approved.

That's just for some bonus disk or something with a bit of content and maybe some documentaries on how SupCom is so much better or something. They've had them for a few weeks I believe.

stop with your heretical lies!

I thnk C&C3 is more similar to Company of Heroes than SupCom. I really hope that C&C3 has a brilliant single player campaign because, unlike SupCom or CoH, the gameplay videos do not wow me at all.

I'm really surprised they didn't introduce direct unit control into the XBox version because the game is more enjoyable when you are blowing stuff up.

I just hope that C&C 3 is more similar to Red Alert 2 than Generals, cause I thought it was a huge letdown after the brilliance that was Red Alert 2, and its campaign.

I somehow don't think so, as Red Alert 2 was Westwood's last seemingly non-EA influenced RTS. Live action cinema scenes give me some hope though. Generals was so devoid of story motivation in its campaign without them...

C&C3 should be about destruction and more destruction. No super-advanced strategies outside of "hey look he's building Orcas time for some mobile AA launchers" and "Hey look he's trying to turtle and tech up a superweapon, here comes the Mammoth tank rush". It's a frenzied action game of uints dying very fast and minimal base/resource management. Oh, and lots of explosions.

It definitely fits a niche. SupCom is certainly not that kind of game, and CoH is still a bit more cerebral as well.

Well said. Some recent RTS games have become too cerebral for my taste as well, and risk feeling too much like "work". What I have read is that C&C3's designers set out to create a very quick and fun game, with short matches, and that would be fine by me!

I don't know if anyone's mentioned this yet, but the demo clocks in at 1.17 GB and includes:

Two single player missions, a skirmish map, a tutorial mission and a live action cut scene!

GLA tunnel rusher confirmed

Really, really, short impressions:

It's *fast*. Graphics are ok, sorta dated, but runs really good. the FMV (or at least the trailer you see before you get to the main menu looks GREAT. SupCom's strategic zoom has 100% ruined my enjoyment of this, though.

SEZ THE PERSON WHO THINKS WC3 IS ASS LAWL!

Im sad about the visuals though i was hoping for something nice given the reduced scale compared to something like SupCom. Eh at least we wont have any qualms running it.

I think the game will likely be worth a purchase alone for the campaign's cutscenes. Lots of star power and it should be really, really good. I'd also like to see (after the game's released) someone put all the cutscenes together as just one big movie. They seem that well done.

The Zoom thing is really, really tough for me to deal with :-p. I feel really boxed in, camera-wise. It's been awhile since I really played a C&C game so I can't really compare it with RA, etc.

WARCOCK you bitch, I will hump you at this demo tonite.

It's Single-player only.

Finished the demo campaign bits. I'm *really* impressed with the production values and polish the game has. The live-acted updates during missions, all the unit voices, etc. Again, I cannot express enough how much I dig the cutscenes :).

I also like the Intel library which has a large list of topics (that seemingly updates as you play more) that gives a bit of backstory and knowledge on units, buildings, the factions, and some general universe topics like Tiberium.

The game is really, really, really fast, with little econning, just lots of building units really fast and fighting. Lots of buildings around for you to bunker infantry in to get a bit of an advantage between bases. Infantry builds in squadrons, everything else singular. Everything builds so fast that there's never a dull moment. It's all action, all the time.

I'm both impressed with the polish and impressed with the mindless (in a good way) action.
