Yeah, the Chuck BRD's make me wish I'd just gotten the DVD's so I can rip them. The Pushing Daisies BRD's look awesome though, unfortunately I also wish I had gone DVD so I can rip it. I've been moving away from Blu-Ray a lot faster this year and am almost completely digital. It's just a lot more convenient when I can watch what I want to watch in an instant without waiting for commercials or copyright notices or "the views expressed in this commentary" notices or any other bullshit the corporations force on their discs. I remember trying to watch Shrek 2 but having to wait for Ben Stiller to stop talking about his fucking Madagascar movie. Same thing when Jerry Seinfeld was hocking Bee Movie. That shit's enough to drive anyone to rip their collection.

It's also nice not having to take the discs out of their boxes, put them in the drive, wait for it to load, then watch a single episode, remove the disc, put it away and take out the next one to watch another fucking episode, forever and ever amen.

I take back my observation about Jeff's "Cool coo cool"'s from season 1 episode 8

Abed definetly said it in the pilot episode but not in the cadence he does it now.

GO MYST

erm... Nintendo

Britta ftw, come turn things into a snake with us!

I'd rather have dual citizenships with team Britta and team Annie.

Is anyone making avatars for the new season? Damn, I miss animated avatars for this.

I'd also like to get in on this, show some team Britta spirit.
If you need some avatars from the seasons gone by, let us know what scene you were lookin fer, we'll try to find one for ya

I wait for reviews on TV blu ray sets before jumping in. I like ripping the DVDs for tv seasons so I can just back them all up and take them on the go, but the large AV jump on things like Supernatural and Fringe make the blu worthwhile. But Chuck I always got the DVD since the quality was meh.

Finished rewatching season 2 today.

This show is amazing, I'm not going to lie, but I swear if they decided to replace it with the Alison Brie Scantily-Clad Variety Half-Hour, I would not object. She just gets better looking every rewatch.

And the Chuck Blu Ray sets are not that great either. Just because it gets a Blu release does not mean it is good. And it is odd since WB puts out some great looking blu ray tv sets, like Supernatural.

But I dont know of any Sony TV properties besides Breaking Bad that get the blu treatment.

Thats pretty damn strange considering they helped create the Blu-Ray disc. Sony being Sony? -__-

The irony is I have Season 1 & 2 on my PS3 with their own special folders.

Yeah I guess I agree.

Chuck gets better ratings than Community, yes it's possible, and we don't have Subway to save our ass

Just a note on that: Looking at the last few weeks of each, they were doing equal numbers in the 18-49 demo, around 1.4-1.5. I think they were doing somewhere around 1.7-2.0 most of the time.

I am not trying to make excuses for them as to no why no Blu-ray for this show, it airs in HD for god sakes

but I really do think, despite similar or not ratings... Community is almost a virtual unknown in a lot of respect in a sea of sitcoms trying to garner attention whereas Chuck is a spy/comedy and not many shows like that and they seem to have a bigger budget I dunno

Are there any T-Rex Britta, that aren't already taken?

I love Britta now.
Season 2 is a lot more consistent on rewatch, and the storylines flow better.
Weak spot is still Basic Rocket Science.

They both have different main studios. Community is a Sony venture, Chuck is WB.

Despite Annie's uncharacteristicness there, I just had a lot of fun in the zaniness of that ep and I usually don't like when they are over the top.

Gillian and Alison huggle wit Danny looking deadpan

Edit2: Added 3 Joel Mchale and John Goodman interviews that contain spoilers in the SPOILER POST#45

Do you guys think they shot the scene for Paradigms with Britta, Abed, and Jeff in costume at Halloween during the shooting for the Halloween episode, or did they set everything back up exactly as it was just for a 5 second clip?

According to the season 2 commentary for that episode, they shot it specifically for that clip show AFTER the Halloween ep aired

but the Christmas clip for the Clip show episode was filmed and recorded during the inital voice recording and animation stages

You mean the claymation part of it, not the live action clip where you see what it really looked like, right? :P

Hello Community-GAF! I'm so excited for season 3. This became one of my favorite shows over the summer (watched season 1 and 2).

POP POP!

Welcome!

Hands-off Alison though, I called her back in season one.

Again, it's really not. It all falls apart because the character work just isn't there at all.

It really just needed to take place some time after the halloween episode. It's placement was a little off from what it should have been imo.

Hawkian said:
Damn. I'm legitimately surprised. That was a lot of work to put into that.
Not really... other than putting Gillian into the costume for a few mins and Joel into a suit, Danny into that costme, and some black balloons it wasnt hard to duplicate, at least they still had the costumes and set pieces

Filming these short clips of episodes that never existed, THAT probably took way more effort

It's rather noticeable- if they had filmed it during the episode, there would have been more people in costumes.

I don't think I've heard that term before "character work." What's it mean?
Though you're being snarky and deflecting instead of trying to actually respond like a normal person in a discussion, I'll answer: they didn't successfully establish the motivations that lead the events of the episode to occur. Annie's actions are undeniably illogical. The episode could have worked in a different place in the season (as Nappuccino said).

gabbo said:
They should do an entire episode in that style (get Chris Nolan to direct for kicks and Abed injokes). That and I've got to believe that's how season 1 and 2 played out in Pierce's head.
Abed parodying Bale Batman was enough Nolan in this world I need thanks

Inception was more a stylized concept thing than a hugely special effecty kinda movie, with creative camera tricks and editing it can work

SephCast said:
Damn, that would've been perfect.
I debated that but we don't know if Omar is comin for more than 1 episode

Yeah I don't even like that other title anyway. Topic title should reference the show more than its guest stars, and right now it does.

Michael K Williams is signed for three episodes so far.

Actually, I wasn't being snarky nor deflecting. The way you phrased it caught me off guard. Annie's always trying to do better than everyone else and be the best.

Wit > Relevance

As long as it's on topic.

Yeah but FUCK YOU, MY TITLE IS PERFECT

Joking aside, Goodman and Williams aren't even in it for more than, what, 6 episodes each probably so it'd be outdated and crap by time we reach Christmas prolly

Unless we got a mod to change it half-way through again like with S2. That'd be nice. I think stump watches over this thread so we could just badger him to change it when we reach the halfway point I guess

Annie is fiercely loyal and kind and a hard worker. She is not cutthroat. She would never danger the educations/careers of essentially everyone in the world to whom she's close in order to get ahead.
