Conker GameSpot review

Did Conker's Bad Fur Day really need a remake? Probably not. It was a fantastic game for its time, but it probably could have gone on existing purely as an N64 title, or it could've gotten a proper sequel and done just fine for itself. However, a remake was made, and for what it is, it's absolutely worth playing. Those who never tried Bad Fur Day aren't likely to ever pick up the N64 version, so this remake serves as a great way to bring a new generation of players into the bawdy world of Conker. And as for those who already played Bad Fur Day and aren't necessarily sold on the notion of playing through a prettier version of a 10-hour game they've already completed, the multiplayer component, despite a few gaffes, is certainly worth checking out. In the end, Conker: Live & Reloaded definitely has some quirks and even a few legitimate problems, but the whole of the experience is a great one. Xbox owners would do well to give it a go.
 
Ehh... I would point and laugh at some of the X-troops but I'll say this instead:

Every single one of you fuckers that didn't play this on Nintendo 64 because Nintendo was "too kiddie" for you should play this now on your "machoor" Xbox.

One of the best platformers ever made, not to be missed!

GS's 7.9 was unsurprising. It was IGN's 7.9 that shook the earth itself.
 
crud, I stayed away from the original, I just couldn't get past the basic concept, didn't seem funny to me, hell maybe I'll rent this thing and give it a whirl, I did like the trailer I saw on Fable
 
while i think its too low, i can live with this score. personally id give it a 9 never having played the original :)

People didn't play it on the N64 because it came out on the system about six months after the system died. It wasn't because Nintendo was "too kiddie". Hell, back then IGN64 was basically IGN Conker.

I personally know people that did just what I wrote.
Hated Nintendo, didn't buy N64.

Fast forward to 2004: lo and behold they love Conker on some Xbox N64 emulator.
 
I didnt think Xbox had enough Ram to emulate Conker? Did someone get it working?

that's what i did and it's still too kiddy. I haven't smiled once in 5 hours with this game, and the boring gameplay doesn't help. I don't get how this game got so much praise on N64.

There are some errors but is still looks better than N64 original.

I just reported on my friends' doings, nothing wrong in that.
They are all bying Conker: L&R (not for the multi, imagine that). This way I'm going to check it out also and hunt for the differences between N64 and Xbox versions.
 
Good score. Its too bad BlockBusters killed their trade 2 used games for a brand new game for 30 dollars promotion,I would be all over this game. I'll wait till it dropps in price. Who ever purchases the game on day one,please post impressions.

That depends - what's the general consesus on the Twin Snakes Remake? Conker falls pretty much in line with that, and I wasn't here when that came out.

Seriously though, why would they replace the frying pan with a bat mid-game? I mean, there's nothing better than just aimlessly beating the shit out of stagnant characters with that perfect black frying pan.
 
I bought the original only about 2 years ago at EB Games boxed new for $5. I fell in love with its unique brand of humor and can't wait to play the Xbox version. I only got partway through the N64 version before I got stuck somewhere. Never went back, but been meaning to retry.

I don't give a crap about the "LIVE" part, it's the "Reloaded" part I've been waiting for. Bring it on!

Also in the room with the hopping key there are monsters now you have to bash
