Gamespot: Death Stranding 2 - Questionable tropes around women / (archived)

Would I like stereotypes of women to die off? Sure. Do i care if video games show real world stereotypes? No.

Why do the complainers always have a specific look?

What is a stereotypical of tits and ass? plenty of real women have those and its appealing to men. So of course they are in our media (including movies)

If what he is complaining about is tits and ass, he is most likely gay. I have no issue with them. I dont really know whats in the game. Was trying to be generic in my response.

You gonna write everything he write in his bio?
Thanks, we can't read from the picture alone.

lmao, at least try to make sounds like a joke next time.
Alright, Fake. Since I like you I won't argue with you. You surely changed though. Bring back covid Fake..

When did men become such wusses?

Nobody ever told me I could be a wuss.

When I was a kid I experimented with being a wuss.

The world did not accept me. Okay, I need that to be a haiku.

Wuss in boyhood days—
the world turned its face away,
no room for soft hearts.

What is the point of this thread? Just culture drama bait to get the same predictable reactions as always?
Calling out the red haired idiot who wrote this garbage piece of shit trying to pass it as a review. What is your hair color? Culture drama? It's only okay if the purple people speak their minds, right? The rest of the population just needs to take it all in and clap. Fuck off.

Game journalists really should just be bullied into deleting themselves. Whether that is from the internet or life I'll leave that up to you people to decide.

If it helps, you can erase that one criticism, add a 0.5 to the score, and now DS2 is a 7.5 score at Gamespot.

The idiot reviewing it only mentioned that the photo mode where you can take pics of the women 'omg the horrorrrrrrrrrrrrr' and a scene where you can see a woman barefoot is why the game portrayed women badly essentially. So sick of these clowns that aren't even gamers trying to force their own political beliefs into the games they review. Fuck this clown and fake gamer and their review should be ignored completely because they're biased.

So tired of these femboy reviewers "defending" women. These are the same retards who demand that all video game women look like men. These so called review sites can't close down soon enough. They have all been infested by activists.

Glad to see comments are still on and most commenters are roasting the reviewer. The reviewer, who is a literal activist. WTF.

This bigot couldn't even hide his bigotry and hate from his review.

The phrase should clearly be:
- Questionable tropes around body type B characters.

It's sad that Gamespot now hires chuds to write their reviews :messenger_pensive:

He implied that it was a forced photo section. If true, removing the fact that it's women (or simply reversing the roles and making it 'taking pictures of men'), I could understand why one would feel like that moment would be a bad break in a gameplay loop, especially if there is no payoff to that moment later where they make the player look back on those pictures.

Other than the one point that OP highlights multiple times, he has 4 other valid negative points that worry me a bit about the game's quality.

The irony is I'm sure the pieces of shit that whine about it are the first ones in line to champion men in women's sports and bathrooms, they can fuck right off they don't care about women at all

This obsession with honoring past legacy also carries the baggage of some of the series' worst tropes, particularly around the portrayal of women, which the first game was also guilty of. While I can't speak with authority about some of the sequel's plotlines, including one involving a phenomenon around childbirth, some scenes caused an exhausting déjà vu; there's an unskippable photography minigame featuring three women posing in front of the camera, as well as a central character who often takes her shoes off as crew members make a running commentary about this habit. The camera pans during cutscenes aren't as excessive as, say, the treatment around Quiet in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, but it all feels unnecessary. And since you're witnessing photo-realistic depictions of real-life actors, it can slip into being a bit weird
The feminist mind will tell you objectification is demeaning (male gaze) and empowering (sex work).

Ironically because stereotypes are based on real life observation, on how people look, act and their personality, it's how stereotypes are born.

I thought for sure that journo was the Soy Boy from infamous Second Son.

I strongly suspect right out of frame is some grass smoothie, No Kings Day pamphlets to pass out, his girlfriend's boyfriend, and maybe some small dog in some kind of pastel colored man purse.

I'm fine with people's personal opinions, it's whatever. But I've never liked when they appeared in game reviews, especially from known outlets. You own a website, you do what you want, even if I don't agree with you doing it or not. But it just feels weird and unnecessary to include them in reviews from known outlets. Especially when they're being highlighted as if the game is being docked because of it, lol. Then again, reviews ARE just "professional" write-ups/opinions, if anything this just goes back to why I gave up on game reviews a very long time ago. I've also just followed my gut for as long as I can remember rather than going to reviews to tell me if a game is worth a purchase or not.

Exactly the type of person I would imagine writing this.

How did this colored hair person rate clair obscure? If anyone who played through coe33, it has tons of tropes around women too….

Imo just another case of woke westerners shitposting against eastern games, we call this cultural imperialism …
