Whatever you do, don't sell it to stores. You'll get more money selling on ebay or to fellow gaf members. As if I needed to point that out.

Nice collection, wouldn't know how to put a price on it:)
I'd personally would never let it go, unless I have urgent money need.

You are probably better off selling Chrono Cross, Vagrant Story, Xenogears, FF Tactics, Suikoden, Suikoden II, and Lunar and keeping everything else. Those seven games will easily fetch more than all of the other games combined.

Whatever you do, don't sell them to a store like EB. Ebay those suckers.

If it were me though, I probably wouldn't sell them at all.

Why would you sell that awesome collection !!! I have most of those games and would never think about selling them. Hell, you have provoked a nostalgia just by showing them to me... me run to his own collection carressing them.

Its a crime.

Retournes bosser! Saleté de joueur de WoW! T'as rien a dire!

You have a nice collection dude (even if it doesn't hold a candle to Mareg's one honestly, if you're going to sell them, sell them individually on ebay.. Just suiko 2 can fetch you close to 100$

Valkyrie profile should fetch you close to 60$

The rest.. well the rest won't really sell for hugh amounts (I got my complete Lunar 2 box for 35$ shipped last week...)

This thread is useless without a reason.

Why you want to sell?

Fixed.

It's a fit of pique. I just mailed my entire collection back to the states for a little over seventy bucks. I began thinking what it would be like to lose them, which got me thinking what my collection might be worth (aside from the obvious nostalgic/emotional value). My close friend on this forum has one of those swanky XCrates with the 'Every Game Ever Created Ever For Any System Ever For Real' mod. Real library vs. virtual library? I've questioned it enough to take the time to list my collection, so it's not like I haven't thought about it at length.

Aside from needing the money really, really, really bad, I couldn't think of any reason to give them up, either.

Come on ..save them man. I save all my consoles and old videogames for memories. I still have most of all usa consoles ever rls'd..im 30 years old.

I just went into my basement and got my old Amiga 500 pumping with life again..man the memories from that Amiga 500 lol..i use to have a trail of kids follow me home every day after school to witness Amiga's graphics lol...i shit you not! :lol

Selling off a few good games is bad enough (been there, never again), but selling off a collection is insanity. Save that for when you get married.

But if you do decide to sell, as others have said, stay away from brick and mortars, or at least chains. The guy behind the counter will probably personally pay you the cash equivalent for those titles, and laugh all the way home. i've done it before myself. :)

Out of curiousity, are any of those Greatest Hits titles?

He is married.

What an insulting question! I consider that the gaming equivalent of asking a woman "no, really, what's your real age?

I found a perfect copy of Suikoden II I can buy for $50, but I just noticed yesterday that the eBay price has plummeted. It's worth closer to $60 now. I was thinking of buying and then selling it for a quick profit, but it's not worth it at that amount. Is the game that expensive simply because of rarity....or also because it's a really, really good rpg?

That collection looks a heck of a lot like mine. I always thought the supposedly diverse Playstation was mostly worthless once you got past the RPGs and 2D games. Fortunately, it had those in spades.

Anyway, if you really need the money I'd suggest selling Valkyrie Profile and/or Suiko II, and keep the rest. The others won't bring you that much cash, and personally I have never enjoyed shipping off fifty different items to fifty different people, if you're thinking about the eBay route.

I sold this :(

It was a monkey on my back. Im better for it.

I think the good members of the forum have made it pretty clear (along with my wife saying things like, "Are you serious? That's like selling our entire courtship!" And, "You would actually sell Tactics? Am I next?") that I should keep my collection.

To answer a question, no, none of my games are greenbar Greatest Hits titles. They are all first releases.

How much for an '01d 5k001 tr011' tag?

How much for a thread that screams: "Lookit me and my impressive list of RPGs I've collected!", when all the games mentioned are more or less commonplace to the Western gamer, and are really not all that impressive at all. If he had a game like Growlanser or something in there, for me it'd be respect++.
