It's all about the ecosystems now. I think we will see something similar to phones moving forward, just longer gaps between devices (not yearly). Like I said earlier, they don't care what system you play on as long as its theirs (Sony/Microsoft). How long will dedicated systems be around? I don't know, but there will always probably be SOME market for it (if you are willing to pay). I think streaming will become the "budget" tier and if you are willing to pay through the nose you could get a dedicated box.
Remember, I'm not saying I like how things are going but YOU choose to pay to play or not. I see a lot of people saying this is crazy for them to charge this amount for the PS5 Pro. Don't buy it then? There is a PS5 available. Yeah I'd love a PS5 Pro for $500 as well but that isn't what they are charging, nor do I think they want to lose money on selling it that cheaply. PS5 Pro will be the premium device from Sony currently, whether you think its worth the money or not.
