Can't wait for all the exclusive Canadian Switch discounts coming soon!!! I love this great country!!!!

Wow, raising the price of the Switch 1 this late in its life is truly wild. Have there been any substantial shifts in the exchange rate for the Canadian dollar in recent months?

I'm trying to comprehend why they would do this in a single region.

Has to be because of Donnie's Tariffs.

Something like 80% of Canadians live 20 miles or less from a US border, btw.

I'm a Nintendo fan but seriously, this will rank as one of the most dumb fuck moments of all time in the industry if they increase the price of an 8 year old console they should be trying to phase out now.

Significantly slash the global price of hardware & software however and they'll sell millions more, idiots.

Canadians, finally you will be able to pay for the real worth of Nintendo products. Someone gotta feed the Nintendo execs.

It's going to be a long drive to the Canadian border to sell my Switch 1 OLED. Sounds like I could get enough to pay for the gas.

Switch is not manufactured in US. Now, that could be an excuse, but come on, how in the world "Liberation Day" could affect CA Nintendo pricing?

Unless Canada really became 51st state.

It doesn't make sense. Raising the prices of Switch and accessories that are more than 8 years old is absurd. They should have made them cheaper and made them a low-cost entry-level product. What a rip-off. We'll see what happens with Switch 2 in the future...

People are buying Switch games for the Switch 2, and a lot of the older accessories work well on the Switch 2. I don't see people paying more for the console itself though.

Forcing people to Switch 2 I see

Companies are making record profits every year and its still not enough

Very Nintendo move. Tighten up supply/decrease demand for the old console while you try and move everyone to the new one. They need to make NSW2 more appealing so people aren't just saying "ok I'm good with my NSW1". Interesting how they're talking about digital games and subscriptions too.
