Thanks. There are definitely moments and angles where the game shines graphically despite the cross-gen downgrade. It makes me more excited for the sequel and upcoming open world titles than anything.

Having said that, enjoy some clear weather daytime shots which doesn't always look that much worse.

Great shots again, PS4/Xbox One only games from third party developers will start shining soon.

But I never played Trine and was really blown away by how amazing it looks:

Those WD screens look amazing as well! Haven't had any rain as of yet. But can't wait for it.

Make sure the RGB range on your tv is set to limited. If the colorS look washed out is because you have the RGB Range set to full on your tv.

Nintendo really seems to be on point when it comes to edible stuff. Sweet Sweet Canyon looks delicious in MK8 and Pikmin 3 has some amazing fruit. Also DKC:TF made me want to lick my screen at times lol.

Yes, it's like early PS3/360 game kinds of ugly. That and I don't much care for the aesthetic.

edit: maybe I'm being overly harsh. It doesn't look that kind of bad but I expected more.

Wouldn't be fair to Watch Dogs since Second Son has an awesome photo mode. All games need something close to, on par, or even better than the photo mode in Second Son.

Photo mode or no photo mode, I:SS looks leagues better than Watch Dogs and the extremely small amount of pop-in while moving really fast (Neon) is great.

I haven't played the game so I can't comment on how it looks in motion but the textures look rather bland and low res in these pics.

That isn't remotely true. Game looks great besides ground textures being fairly low res.

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn

This is one of the last battles in the game's main storyline, so I thought I'd just hide it behind a spoiler tag as well. The way it turned out is gorgeous.

I actually hope they put the extra render juice behind stuff like environment polys and world size. I always wanted that dense forest level that the GCN chipset couldn't handle drawing the trees convincingly.

You're free to think that, but imo it looks pretty good actually.
Better than early 360 stuff, though i know some people are sensitive to Kameo for some strange reason.

Anyway, Pikmin3 is all about great gameplay and great level design and a shitload of charm.
It was my personal GOTY 2013.

Awful is strong, but it's not the best. I posted pics a few pages back.

Game really is all over the place in terms of textures, and the game world feels sort of flat. Needed to use more effects on the ground IMO.

Love the art style though! Think a lot of this stems from the rumored idea that it was initially a Wii title.
