Conspiracies are real, people go to jail for them all the time.
Mobsters, terrorist, financial criminals can all be charged with various conspiracy related crimes and wind up behind bars.

Sounds like a conspiracyI feel anything that goes against the main media narrative is now labeled as conspiracy. Like how if you think Covid isn't as bad as the media portrays or you're skeptical of taking a rushed vaccine you're labeled a conspiracy theorist.
I don’t think that someone suggesting that the pandemic is being misrepresented in the media is the problem, it’s when they cite unproven information from dodgy sources that gets them labeled a conspiracy theorist.I feel anything that goes against the main media narrative is now labeled as conspiracy. Pretty much this. It's one thing to have a differing opinion, but another to have one broadcast for sake of influence. Like this bullshit...I feel anything that goes against the main media narrative is now labeled as conspiracy. Unfortunately, it seems to be the former as well.I don’t think that someone suggesting that the pandemic is being misrepresented in the media is the problem, it’s when they cite unproven information from dodgy sources that gets them labeled a conspiracy theorist.

Of course their are government conspiracies. It's when people start coming out with the US government being behind the 9/11 attacks and things like that, where you start stretching credulity or some of the election fraud things where you would need 1000s of regular people to be involved.Sort of gets rid of the argument that "There can be no government conspiracies because no one can keep a secret!"
Secrets are kept all the time. Anytime someone gets away with a crime with other people is a conspiracy, and law enforcement is very open that lots of crimes never get detected.
Weilthain never existed, his name entered GAFs popular vernacular via the Central Intelligence Committee in order to discredit accusations against the US government of engaging in unconstitutional behavior during the Cold War against the Soviet Union.I miss Weilthain

yay. basically this...Conspiracies are made by people who desperately want the world to make sense and that at least someone is in control.
Reality is just disappointing, unjust, uncaring and no one control anything or understand what's going on.

Mainstream media favors corporatism and the status quo. Fox News favors disinformation in the service of bolstering the electoral fortunes of right wing politicians. It is literally a propaganda arm of the Republican party. The notion of a “liberal” media is a theory without merit.Hmm, but all of them?
The fact that the media favors one political view is seen as a conspiracy, yet, if you take one step away from it it becomes obvious...
You could say the same about government/war programs/experiments that were rumored (and therefore treated as conspiracies) only to be revealed true many years later...
I think the problem here is that the world "conspiracy" has become a broad label, covering from army programs, WW2 and Cold War stuff, to flat earth, gay frogs, aliens and whatever... if a term is usually attributed something, everything that falls under that name inherits the general perception of meaning, so something that could be real and more serious, when considered a "conspiracy theory", is discredited as stupid... the same happened to the term UFO, right? It's become a synonym to alien crafts, even though that's not really what it originally means...
I do believe there are large groups with large interests in the world and that they seek to control the people and the economy... it doesn't need to be shady or obscure, the European Union is one of these groups... China's CCP is definitively one of these groups... but anyways...
One example of "conspiracy theory" that is true: It is known and it is a fact that China has "educational camps" for religious people. If you're religious you're an enemy of the Estate, and they might "teach" you that... stuff like this should be on the news, right? It's wrong, we, as humans, are supposed to be free to choose whichever to believe, it's 2020 ffs... yet you won't see anything about such atrocities on the news, and when pointed it's quickly put under the carpet... isn't that weird? Isn't it weird that western media tries to hide such things?
I'm not saying China has infiltrated mediators or whatever to censor and control, but the thing is, do they really need it? They own a large amount of western corporations... You won't see many people willing to diss on their bosses on national television...

There is nothing “liberal” - if, by “liberal,” you mean left of center or progressive - about the mainstream media. One major news station vs all of the other major news stations is a Republican propoganda outlet (and I will freely admit that it is). Even then, by definition the media is liberal.
