Continuum (2012 tv show)

I finally just burned through the 1st season. Holy shit, this show is great. I wish I watched it earlier because it is better then some of the crap I have been watching.

It looks like the 2nd season is starting up on Friday @10PM on SyFy according to my DVR, I am definitely looking forward to it coming back.
The second season is almost half done here in Canada and it's been great.

Of the three Canadian-filmed Sci-Fi shows I'm currently watching Continuum is my favourite with Defiance as a close second and Orphan Black as a distant third. I've got 5 episodes of Orphan Black on my PVR I haven't bothered watching yet and hopefully marathoning them all will make me like it better.

That is awesome to hear about the 2nd season. This show came out of nowhere for me on a whim (as you can see by my posts months ago). I like well written time travel shows/books/movies and this one has done fairly well so far. I like everyone in the cast except for Kiera's partner, his acting is pretty bad.

Oh damn someone revived this thread. Been thinking about making a LTTP/OT thread for it as this one was a bit more impromtu and didn't have much activity. Still might do it - had a bit drafted out. But yeah, I enjoyed the first season a lot.

Still liking this show.. many others still watching?

Not sure where they're going with it, it's weird that i like the anarchy and anti corporation side quite a bit more than the dumb police..

Alec's girlfriend.. well they went from having a failed dinner and kissing in the rain to sleeping with each other and hugging naked? wtf man. also her being some super agent whilst wearing some skimpy see thru top? what happened to that partner dude from the future he was working with.

S2 is definitely a step up. (I skipped most of the dull first season.) They've cut down on the procedural crime-of-the-week formula - to the extent that it's mostly serialized - and shaken up the main character's dynamic with the police, where the politics of the city have actually been impacted by the main storyline of time travel! and terrorists in direct ways. It's always nice to see writers learn and evolve.

Aside from this show being set in Vancouver, which is a refreshing change, it really feels like a made in Canada production a lot of the time. Maybe it's the cinematography. Nevertheless, I'm enjoying it and it's nice to see an entertaining sci-fi show on tv again. The end of season 1 got pretty good, and season 2 is an improvement generally. They need to utilize Kellog better though, and hopefully X-Files Krycek's character will become a bit less one-dimensional.

Started watching this a few weeks ago, really enjoying it, I just like SciFi more the better.

Most recent episode was good
Gardener was a douche but fuck, dude didn't deserve to go out like that, Kiera is gonna be feeling a little guilty

I like Kellog, I hope his character develops in a similar way to Tesla in Sanctuary, quite self-centered but ultimately a good guy, I would hate to have to root against him.

Burned through this show yesterday and today thanks to the glory and esteem of Netflix. The concept keeps making me scratch my head. I'm not sure who I should be rooting for, and it always keeps me guessing.

Though I can't stop thinking about Abed from Community when Kellog pops up.

I really enjoyed season 1 on netflix, fun show to watch, doesn't feel like a clumsy conspiracy story or anything yet, but nor is it the freshest or most amazing story. But I like what it's done and where it's heading for now.

Also she is so hot.

I just caught up with all the episodes, and I really am enjoying this show.

I'm very glad it is picked up for a 3rd season, and can't wait for the next episode!

Started watching this yesterday on Netflix insistence.

I'm liking it, although only got up to ep4. Definitely has a lot of potential, let's see where it goes (and will have some time to ponder, since I have no idea when the second season will be up on Netflix)

I really enjoyed the latest episode.

I was about ready to start hating the lead character because of her willingness to straight up murder someone. I can definitely understand why Theseus and the liber8 group (who I assume started after Theseus was captured) are fighting against the corporations and that shitty future.

No, you're not alone, it's gotten really good since they embraced the serialized story-line. I'm very interested to see where they go with this new group of time travelers, and I always enjoy the show more when they give the liber8 characters actual screen time.

They seemed to have learnt from season 1.

The idea of the "freelancers" being from further along the time stream is an interesting one. At this point Kiera must know that the timeline has changed so much that she'll probably never get back to her family.

Yup. I assume the series will end with her letting go of them for good and hooking up with Carlos. The focus is square on the timey-wimey stuff and it's for the best.

I wonder who made the time travel tech though, since mr. Escher seems to be aware that it must exist in this time.

Between this and Orphan Black, it's nice to see Canada get their due on TV (without having to pretend it's set in america lol)

I have to say that I enjoy fight scenes in this season. They seem better planned than the 'usual' tv fight. Maybe it's just me, but that stood out to me.

Other than that: S3, yay!

wow glad to see a nice community here that watches this as well. It's a great show, I've grown to love it and like most of the characters a alot since season 1.

Looking forward to season 3, and not sure what to expect!

I went to a food truck yesterday. They were catering for the filming of that TV show. Shucks. No food truck because I'm not working for the show. I was annoyed. I really wanted a burrito.

Sorry for the bump, but just to let people know that Netflix just added the second season! :D (pretty fast too, I wasn't expecting it until next year)

I just started the first season and I'm on the second episode.

These terrorists are such assholes. I want Kiera to kill all these murderous dicks.

I love that this show is set in Vancouver.

Through the whole series, and even up to the second season finale, I'm still wondering why Liber8 are supposedly the "villains." I know it's more gray than that, but Keira comes off as extremely naive and self-centered. Sadler is a little douchebag. Travis is admittedly a bit over the top. But Kagame's teachings ring true enough. And Kellog seems to be the only one with any real common sense.

Good show, in spite of just about every character being an insufferable douchebag.

Is there no one to root for? There's the naive fascist cop and there's the bloodthirsty terrorists, and the clueless cops who keep getting killed. There's the weaselly Kellog. Well, I guess there's Alec... But its only the third episode? I like Carlos. Rachel Nichols is a good actor and smoking.

As you get into the series, and into the second season especially, the writers start adding some depth to Liber8. Without really spoiling anything, I've found Kellog is the one guy out of the whole cast that I really like. You are right about Nichols, though. Damn she is good looking in this.

Has there been any word on when Season 3 will start?

Just finished watching this on Netflix tonight. The end of the second season really kicks it up a few levels. I hope they can do a real planned ending.

Just a heads up, Season 3 starts tonight at 9pm EDT in Canada on Showcase. It'll be back Friday April 4th at 10pm EDT in the US on SyFy.

I just finished watching the S3 premiere and holy shit Continuum is back! I love this shit!

For anyone looking to get into the show, here's a simple picture to understand the timeline.

YUP. WHAT AN EPISODE!

I cannot wait for next week. I don't know which is better Orphan Black or Continuum. But Canada Sci Fi is awesome.

I love this show. I think I will rewatch Season 1 and 2 freshen up because I didn't know who the chick was that Kiera was talking to or the Asian guy.

Let's not forget the stuff that takes place shortly after Kiera leaves and then a hundred years later with the time traveller going back a thousand years to set up the religious/cult order.
