Only the ultimate edition gets the next gen upgrade so I hope it's that but most likely not. I've been meaning to buy it as I wanna play the DLC but rather wait for the next gen patch.

I bought it a few weeks ago on PC. It's ok? I didn't love it like many people seem to. It's a solidly average game imo. Wanted to love it but it wasn't for me. Combat was kind of fun but the world mystery and story exposition didn't grab me.

Not a fan. Every minute you are expected to read a one pager on scifi stuff. It's too long and messes with the game. Sort of like Doom Eternal. Dont read that shit, just play doom-ass Doom. I dont know how to stop. Why can't it be in the game?
I actually thought Jedi Fallen Order text was well done and didn't detract until 2/3 of the way through the game. I'm not sure why that one gets away with it.

But seriously Control is more than a year on market and subtitles/audio in cutscenes is not fixed. That problem is present in both PC and XBox version. There are also problems with not loading textures (including map) and occasional black screen on start of game. I had more problem with Control than with Valhalla in 1/5th of time. It's also sometimes looks super ugly with grainy and blotchy shadows and lighting.
There is also lots of UI problems. Terrible quick travel navigation, pause separated from inventory (90% of times I wanted to go to inventory or mission menu ended with me pausing game instead of that), mission menu is also really bad. Whoever had idea to put missions requirements into main list should not be allowed to make any UI ever again.
And with all that problems it's still second best shooter of last year (with story/narration miles ahead of other one).

Not loading textures are really minor problem in comparison to lack of audio AND subtitles in cut scenes in game so narrative heavy. And that problem exists on both PC and XBox
Just shows how subjective gaming is. Loved Control, thought AC7 was the worst one I've played, bought it and didn't even finish it.

I suffered the blurry textures with it from the beginning - and to me it became over time a major factor in stopping playing it. Replaying the GoG version feels better, but the texture issue is a Northlight problem than a fault with the game.

This is the most frustrating thing about streaming, after talking about how you need to rebuy the game on next gen, they suddenly add it to gamepass.

If it's the vanilla game then you wont be eliagable for the next gen patch and I don't want to take that risk. It was only 20 anyway so I won't bother.

For people curious about possible technical issues on the SX, I can tell you that it works absolutely fine and I've seen none of the issues described.
You can see it's not optimized for SX as it's clearly running up scaled and there's this shimmering effect (you know what I mean) that makes it look like it's running on a One S.
But it doesn't matter at all as the game is great and full of mind blowing TECHNOLOGY, the story is great so far and it's fun to play (a bit repetitive maybe).

Already played through it on PC.
The game definitely has great core gameplay, but once you're about a third through you've basically seen everything it has to offer and you're only really playing for the story. Unfortunately, there really isn't a good payoff for the story and it just kind of....ends without much fanfare.

Started this last night, and the hype for this game is real. The first 30 minutes I was able to squeeze in was really cool. I like the explanation video with the scientist and the atmosphere in this game is top tier. This game is already much better than Remedy's previous game. Hopefully the game continues to hit its stride.
