Shoot people, paid leave.

Facebook people, fired.
The current Police textbook of excuses doesn't work for social media violations. Excuses like "feared for my life" after a shooting, "resisting arrest" after a beating, and "it was consensual" after a sexual assault.

But give it time. Social media is relatively new. I'm sure they'll figure out a way to dodge this type of fuckery without having to bounce to another department.

Ok, now federalize a database on all employed police officers in the United States and where they work as a police officer.

We don't need any more of this,
"The officer had a history of violence against women and minorities and was being investigated for illicit activity. After leaving the department, he was hired 1 town over without more than a conversation with the Chief. Immediately following, the officer was involved with the shooting of an unarmed black male in which the black male was described as a demon".

How about we stop that now as well.

They would rather go backwards and have disciplinary records kept secret or be destroyed. Because to serve and protect reasons.

I think there's a huge chasm between taking joy in the death of someone who wielded considerable (and sometimes negative) influence over others and taking joy in the death of some nameless kid who ultimately just wanted to make the world a better place.

Completely agree. I was just pointing out that sometimes being happy someone died doesn't make you an asshole. I'd say it does in most cases but there are definitely exceptions.

I like this trend of cops outing themselves on social media. I think they should be encouraged to do it more often.

A lot of police departments don't allow chases because the officers involved literally lose their shit. They go into an adrenaline rage.

Deep down you gotta wonder if he's getting fired for what he said, or fired for how he said it.
